Praise and Worship Director Job - Sanctuary UMC, North Wales, Pennsylvania

B. Basic Function:
By exemplifying Christ and upholding the vision and mission of Sanctuary United Methodist Church, the Praise and Worship Director will be expected to provide key leadership for a Worship venue that will assist people to experience the vibrancy and reality of God through Jesus Christ. He/She will assist the Lead Pastor in planning of meaningful worship for congregants, with a target basically 25-45 years of age. The director has the responsibility for the recruitment, training and performance of the Praise and Worship band.

C. Special Tasks
Participated weekly in worship design meetings using creative abilities to enhance the worship experience
-select music for worship
-Assist in selecting videos, visual aides
Lead weekly rehearsals
-teach and rehearse new and known music
- lead devotions at rehearsal
-review order of worship
Recruit and audition potential Praise and Worship band members
Develop and maintain records
-repertoire of band music,
-video resources, visual aides
Coordinate contemporary worship with technical team
-develop "tech" sheets weekly
Provide input into sermon series
-assist in developing visual aide/prop team
Participate in special outreach events (i.e. Christmas Eve services)
-Select music
-Recruit guest vocalists and musicians

D. Position requirements:
A college education, in music theory and/or worship design is desirable.
Experience in a Praise & Worship Band is essential
Proven skills in planning and leading worship
Spiritually sound individual –_noemailmitment to serving Christ
