TYPICAL DUTIES:
The Protestant Chaplain will work closely with the other members of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life (ORSL) to respond to the needs of a spiritually diverse campus_noemailmunity. The Protestant Pastor will have as his/her primary responsibility the religious and spiritual development of the Protestant_noemailmunity on campus.

Responsibilities include:

Be a resource to the diverse Protestant and non- Protestant groups (Unitarians, etc) and work with student leaders, staff and faculty to build and strengthen these_noemailmunities;

Prepare for and preside over a weekly Protestant service;

Be an advisor to the Wesleyan Christian Fellowship and its student leadership.

Work with the other staff in the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, to: help build a student Religious Life Council (RLC), officiate at campus wide events (vigils, Spirituality Week, Commencement) and facilitate programs that encourage exploration of faith and spirituality (lectures, discussions, study groups, etc.)

Collaborate with other offices and academic departments to coordinate educational programs on ethical, moral, religious, spiritual, theological, philosophical, and other issues that are critical to students' attainment of cultural and religious_noemailpetence and tolerance.

Advise and counsel students on religious, academic and personal issues.

This is a part-time position and has an approx. start date of August 13, 2012. The position works 975 hours during the academic year. Ability to work on Sunday is essential.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master of Divinity degree or a Master's degree in a related field with significant campus ministry experience. Proven ability to work with college students of all backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated familiarity with a college/university environment and student developmental issues.
