EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: For up to two (2) worship services on Sundays, prepares and delivers positive, motivational sermons that stimulate the Congregation to positive action; develops scripture based worship services, traditional and contemporary, that attract youth and adults; trains lay leadership to perform the many functions required in an active Christian Church; provides Pastoral Care to the critically ill, bereaved, and needy; counsels a variety of individuals upon request; conducts weddings, funerals, and baptisms; promotes stewardship in all areas of the Church; supervises a small staff of ministers, youth leaders, parish visitors and clerical staff; interacts with all Boards, staff and members of the Church to achieve the goals and objectives of the Church.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation with a Master of Divinity Degree from an Accredited School of Religion / Theology that provides an ecumenical training based in the oneness of all people under God, and that it is the responsibility of the individual to determine his/her relationship with God; a strong belief that he/she is called by God to serve all people regardless of race, religion, gender, status, and any other human difference; preference- five (5) years as a Senior or Lead Pastor in a Church having two hundred (200) active membership or a similar size that provides the challenges of multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and socio-economic diversity; skill to_noemailmunicate with persons regardless of their age, with varied ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
