Youth Ministry Coordinator Job - OFallon First United Methodist Church, O'Fallon, Illinois

O'Fallon First United Methodist Church is seeking a Youth Ministry Coordinator for a full time staff position that will focus on creating and implementing a sustainable youth program. The purpose of this program is to inspire ,excite, and challenge the youth of the church and_noemailmunity as they continue their spiritual journeys. The youth program covers grades 6 to 12 and is divided into two sections, the Junior High School age (grades 6 to 8) and the Senior High School age (grades 9 to 12).

Candidates for this position must first and foremost have a passion for God and for youth. The church is looking for candidates who bring a wealth of knowledge, ideas, creativity, and experience. Part of this position's responsibility will be to help the church understand the full potential of the program and the youth involved. This position will include, but is not limited to, the development and oversight of classes, activities, recreation, mission trips, and Bible studies. Candidates must possess a strong sense of creativity and direction and have the ability to think unconventionally. This position will involve interaction with a wide variety of ages and personalities. This person will work in coordination with the staff, parents, youth, and members of the congregation in expanding the youth program. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and works well as a part of a team. Candidates must be able to relate to youth of all ages and be willing to participate in all areas of the program.

O'Fallon, Illinois is a healthy and growing suburban area located just thirty minutes from the city of St. Louis. O'Fallon is home to one high school with two campuses and three junior high schools. The town is also located just minutes from Scott Air Force Base. All of these factors have led to a vibrant and growing church. The church has five weekly services with an average attendance of over 600. The church is home to a wide variety of ages, but in recent years has seen growth in the number of families with children and youth.

Education Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

Education Preference:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in youth ministry, education, psychology,_noemailmunication, divinity or related area.

Experience Requirements:
Three to five years experience in youth ministries or related work.
Solid_noemailmunication,_noemailanizational, and administrative skills.

Technical Requirements:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office tools. Must be able to create and facilitate online_noemailmunication with tools like Facebook, Twitter, email, and online newsletters.
