Job Summary
The Worship & Music Director will provide leadership to the Worship Arts Ministry at CrossWay Church. This leader will focus in leading worship, adapting songs, coaching worship leaders, leading worship teams, leading choir
and creative music elements, planning services, and providing spiritual leadership for all individuals in the Worship Arts Ministry. The Worship & Music Director is involved in the creative process for the planning of all CrossWay services and events.
Essential Functions
1. Grow in personal development & leadership
Regularly nurture and grow your relationship with Jesus Christ
Honor God in your relationships
Believe and live your life in accordance with the doctrine and core values of CrossWay Church; recognize that you are in an influential leadership position
Lead the ministry in accordance with the mission, core values, culture, and philosophy of CrossWay
Support the leadership of CrossWay
Fulfill the membership covenant
Develop accountability relationships
Develop friendships with the spiritually lost
Continue to grow as a leader
2. Provide worship leadership as leader, co-leader, and coach
Lead worship on Sundays, holiday services, and at other CrossWay events
Coach current and emerging worship leaders
Recruit and develop worship leaders and vocalists
Assist in providing worship for all CrossWay services and events
Develop bands by recruiting, auditioning, and developing musicians
3. Oversee the roster on Planning Center Online (PCO)
Work with Program & Arts Director to plan seasonal roster
Schedule replacements
Oversee chord charts, lyrics, song keys, and road maps
4. Lead new song development
Prepare charts and mp3s as needed
Write songs for church (if applicable)
Assist with song and music workshops and training
5. Lead musical and vocal arrangements for the bands as needed
6. Provide ministry care for the CrossWay family
7. Attend creative, planning, and debrief meetings:
Staff meeting
Planning team meeting
Other
All staff b_noemaile members when they are hired and as members are required to abide by the membership covenant and all staff policies and procedures.
Training and Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of worship leading and ministerial experience; OR
Any equivalent_noemailbination of training and experience
Experience with Planning Center Online (PCO) preferred
Strong lead instrument (guitar, piano or both)
Strong vocal talent
Ability to lead various musical styles, teams, and arrangements
