Contemporary Worship Leader Job - First United Methodist Church, shreveport, Louisiana

FUMC Shreveport is a larger, downtown church in Northwest Louisiana, with a rich history of offering meaningful worship in both traditional and contemporary languages. Presently our_noemailbined worship attendance for all services is around 950 people. FaithLink is our contemporary worship service, meeting on Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM, where we currently average around 220 people. Our worship experience seeks to passionately lift up Jesus Christ as the one through whom, in whom, and for whom all things are made. We strive for faithful preaching and teaching of the Bible, honesty in our expressions of_noemailmunity and worship, and a willingness to follow as the Lord leads.

We are looking for a person whose gift mix and willing spirit can partner with our team to help lead our_noemailmunity into the presence of God. We believe vocal and musical excellence, in addition to a discerning spirit, are gifts for those whom God has called to lead.

Responsibilities Include
Lead the FaithLink worship team.
o Musically—Provide guidance to the team for direction of music, including selection, rehearsing, critical suggestions, and overall teamwork.
o Spiritually—to nurture and foster spiritual growth with the worship team, both personally as and a team.
Lead Sunday Morning Contemporary Worship Service with musical excellence, helping invite our_noemailmunity into the presence of God through the rhythms of song.
Selecting music in conjunction with vision for the service that coordinates with themes, scriptures, and overall direction of worship.
Remain abreast of emerging worship music.
Meet weekly with key leadership to pray, vision, plan, and implement worship experiences.
Coordinate with worship team and volunteers using Planning Center Online.
Set up media for worship, including slide prep for lyrics, backgrounds, and other video.
Help coordinate volunteers for logistics of worship service, including ushers, media team,_noemailmunion servers, set up and break down teams, and so on.
Manage budget.
Other responsibilities will emerge, contingent upon the gifts and passions of the applicant.
