Job Summary
The Worship Pastor will utilize a heart for authentic worship to lead the congregation to b_noemaile growing worshipers of Christ. This involves serving as the primary worship leader during weekend worship services, but also includes equipping other worship leaders, musicians and vocalists. This position will require strong shepherding and leadership skills, along with the ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers serving in various related ministry areas such as Audio/Visual Production, Set Design, Graphic Design, Video Production and Media Promotion. As a pastor, this individual will be responsible to shepherd those on the worship team and be able to provide pastoral care as needed to the congregation as a whole.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Lead worship through voice and instrument during weekend services and special occasions, including appropriate rehearsals
-Provide oversight of all other worship elements throughout the church including children and youth ministries
-Plan weekend worship services, including song selection, in partnership with the Senior Pastor
-Oversee and manage various related teams including: Audio/Visual Production, Set Design, Graphic Design, Video Production and Media Promotion
-Recruit, develop, and mentor volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, and other worship team members
-Develop and lead a worship ministry team that fosters good_noemailmunication and a strong sense of_noemailmunity among all musicians and vocalists
-Oversee the scheduling of worship team members and members of associated teams
-Keep current on trends in contemporary worship music and identify new worship songs to utilize in weekend services
-Perform other pastoral duties as needed including shepherding, discipleship, counseling, and hospital or home visits
Qualifications/Requirements/Competencies
-Meet the qualifications of a pastor as found in 1 Timothy 3
-Align with the doctrine, style, and philosophy of ministry as found at Harvest Community Church
-Exemplify a heart for worship and possess a fully developed theology of worship
-Ability to draw and engage multiple generations (Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Children, etc...) to worship in spirit and truth
-Possess the heart of a pastor which includes ability to shepherd all those on the various worship teams and other members of the congregation
-Proven ability to recruit and mentor volunteers, build and lead teams, and delegate and grow future leaders
-Possess a strong musical ability, including an understanding of music theory, ability to read and interpret musical arrangements, creative ability to write and_noemailpose musical arrangements, ability to lead worship vocally, and ability to play and teach multiple instruments (primary focus on guitar or piano)
-Ability to interact in a team environment, be inclusive of other people's gifts and opinions, model humility and deference to other ideas, and_noemailpromise in decision-making
-Proven ability to drive for excellence in worship, production, and other areas while delegating and empowering others to take ownership of appropriate areas of responsibility
Education/Training/Experience
-Bachelor's degree in related field
-7-10+ years ministry experience in the local church
-Experience leading contemporary worship in a church of 500+
-3-5+ years in a pastoral or shepherding role
