Job Description:
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Trinity is embarking on a transformation and looking to innovate with our associate pastor position in how we minister to families. The pastor will have a passion for working with families and youth as they deal with issues they face in their lives and neighborhoods. This passion will be_noemailplemented by core strengths in building connections between youth and families and the life of the congregation and_noemailmunity in ways that help us all grow as followers of Jesus Christ. There is no template for this position, and the pastor will require a thirst for building and learning through innovation, collaboration, and relationship building.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Family and Youth Ministry
Create innovative, engaging, and thriving programs that cultivate a hunger in our youth for a
lifetime_noemailmitment to Jesus Christ.
Attract, motivate, and equip volunteers from our congregation who are eager to invest in and
significantly influence the spiritual lives of our youth.
Build connections that enable families and youth to feel valued and embraced as part of the Trinity
family and the broader church’s mission.
Develop opportunities with a focus on enabling parents to disciple their children through spiritual
formation for the family.
Cultivate a passion among our families and youth for consistent involvement in Bible study,
worship,_noemailmunity outreach, and other discipleship opportunities.
Work collaboratively to promote seamless transitions and high levels of retention among children,
middle school, high school, and young adult programs.
Supervise part-time youth interns.
Develop youth opportunities to build meaningful connections with our multigenerational church
Identify opportunities for youth to participate actively in worship and the larger ministry of the
church.
Pastoral Ministry
Assist in worship preparation and service; preach as needed, with an expectation of about one time
per month.
Work collaboratively with the senior pastor and program staff to provide creative expressions of
worship.
Share responsibilities for pastoral care and counseling.
Lead or participate on ministry teams and groups—e.g., Connections, Youth—as needed.
Attend staff meetings, and provide support and resources as needed.
Act as head of staff for the senior pastor as required.
