David's Community Bible Church (DCBC) is a vibrant fellowship of believers with a strong presence in our_noemailmunity. Historically, DCBC is a globally mission-minded church that intends to build upon its thriving youth and worship ministry. We are looking forward to the Senior Pastor the Lord has chosen to lead us into the next season of our ministry.
DCBC exists to glorify God by intimately knowing Him, deeply owning our faith together, and passionately making Jesus known to others. We strive to be and make disciples. The leadership of the church, directed by the Senior Pastor, is seen as vital to engaging church members in worship and discipleship that deepens our walk with Christ each day.
As a regional church, we desire to make Jesus as available as possible in as many ways as possible to as many people as possible in the Lykens Valley and the surrounding area. We endeavor to intentionally present the person and work of Jesus Christ to our valley through public proclamation of the Gospel, interpersonal evangelism, and through the testimony of our lives as a body. DCBC is_noemailmitted to global outreach and currently supports a number of missionaries around the world.
The atmosphere at DCBC is we_noemailing and friendly. A strong, Biblically-based worship and discipleship experience is the focus of our vision.
The Senior Pastor of DCBC will lead in the church and represent the church in the_noemailmunity. As a leader, the Senior Pastor will provide direction to the church and our staff leadership team, working closely with the Board of Elders. He will develop the leadership potential of our current staff as well as our lay leaders. He will develop strategies to a_noemailplish DCBC's vision. The Senior Pastor will be an excellent_noemailmunicator of God's Word, articulating the timeless truths of Scripture and a clear application how we can live passionately for Christ each day.
The Senior Pastor will exhibit a shepherd's heart for all who are part of DCBC and the surrounding_noemailmunities regardless of age, race, economic status, and without_noemailpromising the vision of reaching young families. He will demonstrate an approachable spirit and exhibit wisdom and discernment in his counsel. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership success as a pastor in a church setting overseeing and supervising multiple staff. He must be a leader who exemplifies and_noemailmunicates both truth and grace. The successful candidate will see the need to honor and build upon the past, while showing innovation and vision for the future. He will have a philosophy of ministry that is consistent with the beliefs, vision, and mission of DCBC. The successful candidate will have a heart and passion for what makes DCBC unique in our_noemailmunity. The Senior Pastor must meet the qualifications of a church leader described in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9.
He should have a bachelor's degree, and preferably an advanced degree in theology. The candidate will have a vision for reaching those who are far from God and who do not yet know the grace and truth of Jesus Christ, coupled with a Christ-like love for the church, which will ensure that DCBC is shepherded with true love and care.

The congregation is gathered from several_noemailmunities in a large surrounding area, mostly in northern Dauphin County. The sprawling mountainous terrain and a mixture of forest and farms provide an appealing rural feel while also being located 26 miles from a large population center surrounding the capitol of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. The policy making-body of DCBC is a Consistory_noemailposed of Pastors, Elders, Deacons, and Trustees. With certain exceptions, the Consistory transacts the business of the Congregation.
