Pastor of Worship Arts Job - Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson, Kansas

General Description of Position
The Pastor of Worship Arts should fully embrace the vision statement of the church: "We are Growing in Grace as we Encounter God in Word and Worship, Strengthen Families through Intentional Relationships, Build Disciples by Investing in Others and Serve Together with our Spiritual Gifts." This position will focus on "Encountering God in Word and Worship" working with Church Staff, musicians, and congregational members to create an environment of Spirit-filled worship that honors God. The Pastor of Worship Arts will assemble the weekly worship services and coordinate the worship team members as well as provide spiritual guidance for them.

Qualifications
1. Professes faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and possesses the call of God to Worship;
2. Possesses a firm foundation in the Word of God and is devoted to Scriptures for providing truth, guidance, and direction in the fulfillment of God's calling;
3. Possesses a Master's Degree in Divinity or Master's Degree in Arts
a. Possesses ordination within the Evangelical Covenant Church in Word and Sacrament or Word and Service or
b. Will actively pursue ordination within the Evangelical Covenant Church in Word and Sacrament or Word and Service.
4. Possesses spiritual gifts, skills, and experience that are appropriate for this calling;
a. Ability to read and transpose music of a variety of genres
b. Ability to understand and utilize AV sound system and_noemailputer equipment
c. Proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar, and singing
d. Capable of directing a seasonal choir, small ensemble (both instrumental and vocal)
5. Demonstrates and models an authentic Christian life which is indicative of spiritual and emotional maturity;
6. Is able to provide loving,_noemailpassionate, and confidential guidance in counseling congregational members and regular attenders with spiritual and personal concerns;
7. Is willing to receive counsel and ensure appropriate care for self and family;
8. Able to assume duties of a pastoral position including some preaching or teaching as assigned;
9. Is knowledgeable and supportive of the Evangelical Covenant Church and its teachings and has_noemailpleted the appropriate seminary education, training, and experience for the position.

Responsibilities
For the health of all, the Pastor of Worship Arts cannot and should not try to "do it all." Additionally, Countryside values empowering members to do ministry. Therefore, the responsibilities are broken down into three levels of involvement: primarily responsible, facilitates, and assists. Primarily responsibility denotes a core job function that will be principally performed by, actively lead, or supervised by the Pastor of Worship Arts on a consistent basis. Facilitated job functions are secondary job functions that the Pastor of Worship Arts should train, delegate, empower, and monitor on a consistent basis. Assisted job functions are tasks that should principally be delegated with the Pastor of Worship Arts providing guidance, correction, and counsel on an as-needed basis.
1. Primarily responsible for Worship Planning
a. Selecting, designing, and ordering the service elements (songs, videos, scripture readings, testimonies, prayers, drama, etc.) to amplify and coordinate with the weekly message, ensuring a cohesive worship experience
b. Meeting with the Senior Pastor weekly along with other Staff/Leaders to develop the overall worship experience
c. Evaluating worship in light of the Church's mission statement
2. Primarily responsible for the assembly and development of Worship Team(s)
a. Develops the musical and worship gifts of the team as well as recruits additional musicians and vocalists to be included in the rotation
b. Provides spiritual leadership to the team (discipleship)
c. Coordinates and plans the Sunday morning schedule for worship team participants
d. Facilitates, directs, and schedules weekly rehearsals
e. Prepares music folders for vocalists and musicians as well as maintains the music library
f. Uploading all elements of the various services into Media Shout
3. Primarily responsible for coordination of seasonal programs including but not limited to: Maundy Thursday, Easter, and Christmas services
4. Primarily responsible for operation in a manner which is consistent with the Word of God and the Constitution and By-Laws of the Church
5. Facilitates in the training of audio visual and sound personnel.
a. Have a working knowledge of all music and worship_noemailputer systems and software including sound equipment
b. Oversee the repair of all music, sound, and projection equipment
c. Uploading sermon podcasts onto the church website
6. Facilitates all tear down and setup of all stage equipment for events in the Worship Center
7. Assists the Senior Pasto
