PURPOSE: To provide Christ-centered pastoral ministry and leadership that equips God's people and builds up the Body of Christ to connect, grow and serve together.

ACCOUNTABILITY: To Homestead Presbytery and to the congregation of The Presbyterian Church of Fremont through the Senior Pastor (Head of Staff) and the Session.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Senior Pastor (Head of Staff) in the following duties:

Education and Discipleship: (40%)
Partner with the Discipleship Committee and Family Ministry Team to encourage the spiritual formation and development of children, youth and adults
Provide leadership for middle school and high school youth ministries
Participate in the teaching ministry of the church
Oversee and develop adult small groups and discipleship classes, with an emphasis on creating opportunities for growing women's ministries
Assist with new member classes and confirmation classes

Outreach and Evangelism: (15%)
Lead by example in reaching out in love and inviting people into a relationship with Jesus
Call and equip those in the church to effectively reach people through missional outreach
Encourage relational evangelism and servant leadership
Represent our church in the Fremont_noemailmunity and help develop and support collaborative_noemailmunity outreach efforts

Pastoral Care: (15%)
In partnership with the Board of Deacons and Senior Pastor and Parish Associate, participate in ministries of caring,_noemailpassion, and visitation (crises, hospital, nursing homes, and shut-ins)
Officiate weddings and funerals (per ordination status)
Provide spiritual and short-term counseling and referral services

Worship: (10%)
Help lead Christ-centered worship services
Deliver thought-provoking sermons that relate biblical teachings to our daily lives
Administer the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper (per ordination status)


Congregational Life: (10%)
Promote fellowship and cross-generational connections
Engage people in the life of the church
Enhance two-way_noemailmunication
Help guide the spiritual life of the congregation

Leadership: (5%)
Provide leadership in developing the overall vision and mission direction of the congregation
Help develop an engaged and_noemailmitted staff team
Participate in activities and_noemailmittees appropriate to his/her status as a member of Presbytery

Administration: (5%)
Administer the church's programs and ministries as developed by the Session through the church staff and volunteers
Encourage and support a strong stewardship program
Help ensure the business affairs of the church are met through the work of Session, Session_noemailmittees, staff and volunteers


RELATIONSHIPS: Relates to the Senior Pastor (Head of Staff), as Associate Pastor; relates to the Session, staff, and congregation as Associate Pastor a teaching elder and pastor; relates to the Homestead Presbytery as a continuing member (if ordained teaching elder). Acts as a staff resource to the Board of Deacons and Session_noemailmittees, with special emphasis on the Discipleship Committee and the Community Outreach Committee. Close correlation of work of the church staff occurs through regular staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates living faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is_noemailmitted to serving God through the church. Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Divinity or Theology preferred (required to be ordained teaching elder).

COMPENSATION: Minimum effective salary for ordained teaching elder: $44,960
Total_noemailpensation package with benefits: $62,196 or more
Includes 4 weeks annual paid vacation and 2 weeks annual continuing education leave.

EVALUATION: Work objectives and performance reviews will be conducted annually by the Senior Pastor (Head of Staff) and the Session Personnel Committee. The Personnel Committee will annually review the adequacy of_noemailpensation.
