SCC subscribes to the faith-at-home philosophy of family ministry as a means to resource, encourage, and support parents as partners in the spiritual nurture of their children. Familiarity with the "Orange" movement is helpful. The successful candidate, however, must not be satisfied with only reaching the children of those who already attend SCC – but should creatively cast vision and execute programming with a goal toward reaching new families.
The successful candidate will be creative, imaginative, with enthusiastic drive and facility with volunteer recruitment, nurture and retention strategies. He or she will be a team player - valuing a collaborative approach to ministry - working well alongside other staff. Finally, the successful candidate will be a loyal champion for the mission and vision of Stuart Congregational Church.
Candidates should have at least a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of two years of children's ministry experience. A mature faith, emotional and relational stability, and a youthful exuberance are important character traits for the Director of Children's Ministries.
