Title: Technical Director

Media Ministry:

Execute all technical elements for Sabbath and Special Events

Church Staff, Volunteers, Contractors and Outside Group Leaders

General Job Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities : Successfully execute technical elements required for Sabbath worship services.

SecondaryResponsibilities: Maintainequipment,supporttechnicalandmusicalelementsand support and train the AV volunteers of the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Weekday responsibilities:

*Update lobby screens with current and u_noemailing events as well as church information. *General maintenance required for A/V equipment upkeep.

*Communication with & scheduling volunteers to ensure all weekend tech positions are filled. *Communication with outside groups utilizing the church facility to support all Audio and Video

needs required for their event.

*Support all A/V needs for Guest Artists performing at church events.

*Setup and support all Audio and Video needs required for Thursday night rehearsals and

other agreed upon rehearsals.

Weekend Responsibilities:

*Support A/V Volunteers in their positions for the weekend Sabbath.

*Facilitate technical needs for Sabbath services conducive to the vision and desired

congregational worship experience as articulated by the Director of Worship/Arts, Worship

Leader and Pastoral Staff.

*Facilitate the streaming of weekend services (Traditional and Contemporary) to the church

website via Wirecast.

*Upload Audio and Video recordings from Sabbath church services (Traditional and

Contemporary) to the church website and Vimeo account.

Other Responsibilities:

*Support a healthy culture among the Media Ministry volunteers, musicians, and church staff. *Support the vision and mission of the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Work Experience and Skills Required for this Position:

Experience: At least one year as a Technical Director (preferably having served in a church setting)

Skills required:

*Technical Problem Solving, sonic balance of a variety of musical ensembles (band, orchestra, choral, etc), utilization of EQ and Reverb.

*Good interpersonal_noemailmunication skills

*Self-motivated

Knowledge, understanding and experience working with: Wireless (Sennheiser) and wired microphones, Digital Audio Consoles (Allen & Heath), Dante protocol_noemailponents, Mac_noemailputers, Video Displays and Projectors, Video Switchers (Ross), as well as manned and remotely operated Cameras.

Experience working with software: ProPresenter, Wirecast, Dante Controller and Planning Center Online.

Priorities for an effective Tech Team

1. Communication . Develop a "worship service plan" which literally puts everybody on the

same page.

2. Preparation . Spiritual preparation should take place first, before technical preparation.

Create a "preflight checklist" for each job that should be performed prior to every sermon

or presentation.

3. Concentration . Since multimedia work usually takes place in a confined space, it's easy

to b_noemaile distracted by another team member's job. Each member should concentrate

on his role and his alone.

4. Synchronization . Teamwork in this case means that the worship service outline is in

front of each multimedia member, eyes are focused on the stage, and hands are on the

controls.

5. Specialization . "Find out what you're good at and give it all you've got." One job, one

function. Each person should b_noemaile a specialist at his or her task.

6. Anticipation . As easy as this may seem, multimedia team members must be in three places at once: The big picture; right now; and a step ahead. If they're too late by one second while performing a task, they have caused a distraction. Effective tech work is

invisible!

7. Evaluation . It is important for the preacher and team members to "huddle" often. None

of us are perfect, but each time the gospel is_noemailmunicated, it deserves our best effort.
