Heritage Church is a non-denominational church that continues to see the hand of God works in special ways within the body of Christ, and in their_noemailmunity. The region of Texarkana is largely considered unchurched, and it is the desire of Heritage Church to reach these people with the radical love of Christ. The ministry of Heritage has been designed with the unchurched in mind—to reach the people no one else is reaching and do the things that no one else is doing. The future is brighter than ever at Heritage and they believe God is up to something amazing. The next Lead Pastor will be play a vital role as Heritage continues to seek God's plan for this next exciting season of ministry.

The Lead Pastor will be the CEO of the Church and shall lead all of the ministries of the Church guided by the Board of Elders and supported by ministry teams. The Lead Pastor shall be responsible for leading ministry teams made up of members of the Church as determined for various purposes. The Lead Pastor of the Church is responsible for leading the Church in accordance with Biblical principles as set forth in the New Testament. As such, the Lead Pastor will be the leader of the Church congregation, the Church staff, all Church_noemailanizations, all Church ministries, and all Church ministry teams, to a_noemailplish the New Testament purposes of the Church. This position is accountable to BOE and the church congregation, and this role will serve as the primary_noemailmunicator, visionary, and provider of overall spiritual leadership to the church.

The Lead Pastor will also serve specifically as an inspiring, authentically biblical, grace-centered, and relational_noemailmunicator for Weekend Services. Heritage uses a team teaching model where teachers alternate speaking at the live venues. Thus, the new Lead Pastor will develop and teach approximately 40 messages each year and will be able to relate, connect and engage to the whole of the church, with a particular strength in connecting with a young and diverse congregation. Heritage typically walks people through the Bible in a more topical and Christocentric fashion. The messages may be framed in 2-4 week series.

The successful Lead Pastor candidate will be able to thrive in a large multi-faceted, and extremely diverse, growing church culture where relationships, grace, authenticity, integrity, and loyalty are critical. Consistent quality teaching is imperative. The Lead Pastor must be able to focus significant energy throughout the week to prayerfully studying God's word in preparation to deliver excellent and practical weekend messages. In addition, he will be able to give leadership and vision to the total teaching ministry of the church.

It is likely that the prospective candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in biblical studies, seminary training, or divinity is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a history of working in a grace-centered, multi-generational setting that is_noemailmitted to reaching the unreached, working within a_noemailmunity, and promoting innovation through collaboration. They will show a high degree of effectiveness in_noemailmunication, public speaking, discipleship and equipping. Work in a large, multi-staff setting is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will also have a proven record of being a gifted teacher, leader and_noemailmunicator as a Lead Pastor or similar capacity.

Texarkana is located between the two major cities of Dallas, TX and Little Rock, AR in the extreme northeastern portion of Texas on the Texas-Arkansas border.
