First Lutheran Church seeks a Worship Director/Minister of Music. The Director of Music will oversee worship services which currently are Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00 A.M. He/ She will, in collaboration with the Senior Pastor, select and prepare music for Sunday liturgies.
He/She will lead, direct, and oversee church choir including rehearsals, hand bell choir and rehearsals, and children's music program at the Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center.
Current position is a part-time position at 20 hours per week, with the goal to increase to 29 hours per week. The salary range is $15-20 per hour.
Purpose:
The purposes of the position are to facilitate an atmosphere in which God is worshipped and glorified, to provide direction, oversight, and coordination of musical, artistic, and technical elements of worship services.
Position Description:
The Music Director will serve as primary administrator of the music ministry of the church. He/She will be responsible for the planning,_noemailanizing, conducting, and evaluation of a_noemailprehensive music ministry. He/She will provide variety in types of music presented, with traditional hymns and liturgy, and when appropriate, blended with contemporary music.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the pastor, plan and implement the yearly music ministry including regular and special worship services and special music programs sponsored by the church.
Oversee vocalists and musicians
Schedule and facilitate all worship practices Schedule and facilitate all choir and musical practices
Continue to enlist qualified candidates for band, vocals and choir
Use the music ministry to entice young and old to attend worship services through_noemailanization and implementation of choirs and musicians.
Ensure diversification of instruments and vocalists during worship by personally playing
the_noemailan and piano and arranging for guest vocalists and instrumentalist's participation in worship services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidate should,
Demonstrate a passionate love and_noemailmitment for Christ Possess a servant's attitude
Possess excellent vocal and instrumental abilities
Be proficient in playing the_noemailan and piano/keyboard Teach different parts of worship to a team of singers
Teach and lead a choir with the ability of teaching different voice parts Posses a strong visionary, planning, and_noemailanizational skills
Fluent in traditional music
Ability to work with and supervise contemporary music Able to work within a team structure
Ability to incorporate other instruments into service
Be collaborative, creative, energetic, spiritually grounded, and open-minded Possess knowledge of and experience with liturgical worship
Willing to lead children and youth choir
Willing to recruit vocal and musical talent from broader_noemailmunity a plus
Experience:
Qualified candidates should show demonstrated experience as Worship Music Director
