SUPPORT STAFF POSITION DESCRIPTION:


TITLE:
Office Manager. A full-time, salaried-exempt support staff employee.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
To provide administrative and secretarial services to the Pastors and program staff of the church to ensure the smooth operation of the church office and facilities.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The individual in this position will work under the direct supervision of the Pastor, Head of Staff.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Must express a personal belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and possess a personal commitment to the Church as the Body of Christ.

B. Proficient in the use of computers, electronic mail and Microsoft Office applications.

C. Excellent office skills with the ability to organize and maintain records and files.

D. Operate and troubleshoot general office equipment such as copy, fax, and folding machines.

E. Work with minimum supervision and follow through on details.

F. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a variety of personal styles.

G. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

H. Effective phone etiquette skills and ability to direct phone calls to appropriate staff.

I. Ability to multi-task and handle several projects at a time.

J. Ability to maintain confidentiality.


V. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
A. Perform administrative support and secretarial work for the Pastors and program staff.

B. Supervise office volunteers.

C. Prepare and edit church bulletins for weekly and special services.

D. Prepare and edit Media Shout software presentation for worship services.

E. Prepare announcements, letters to congregation, etc. for mailing.

F. Maintain master church calendar and the appointment schedules of the Pastors.

G. Publish documents and other communication materials through software applications (weekly emails through Constant Contact, bulletins in Publisher, sanctuary words on the wall through Media Shout, etc.)

H. Perform clerical work for church committees and organizations, as directed by the Pastors.

I. Maintain inventories, order and purchase office supplies and equipment.

J. Any checks/monies given to Office Administrator are to be deposited into the lock box.

K. Recruit and direct work of volunteers to perform routine office tasks as needed.

L. Attend weekly staff meetings.

M. Assist the Clerk of the Session in preparation of the Session Book of Minutes, the Church Register, new member and baptism certificates, letters of transfer and general correspondence and communication with Presbytery.

N. Maintain office files, database of members (currently through CMS database), electronic files through SharePoint and others as requested.

O. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Pastors.

VI. REVIEW AND EVALUATION
In accordance with LNPC personnel policies detailed in the Personnel Policy Manual, performance reviews will be conducted during the employee's initial 90 day probationary period of employment. Performance reviews are conducted periodically thereafter as warranted. Salary and benefits are determined annually in accordance with policy defined in the Personnel Policy Manual.
