Senior Pastor Job - Heritage Baptist Church, Ashburn, Virginia

Heritage is an independent Baptist church. We are looking for a Baptist minister who can build on the foundation in place and lead us to reach many for Christ both at home and abroad.

God has positioned Heritage Baptist Church (HBC) in the_noemailmunity of Ashburn, VA, to make an eternal difference in the lives of the people here and the surrounding_noemailmunities. HBC started from humble beginnings in a public school in Sterling, VA, approximately 32 years ago by a group of believers who wanted to see God's will done and a church built for His glory. All through these years, we have seen His hand of guidance and blessing. Today, through God's grace and provision, HBC is_noemailpletely debt free and owns four acres of land; an historic chapel; three modular classrooms; and, a building that houses a large sanctuary, a fellowship hall, and the church offices.

HBC offers numerous ministries to its members and conducts a free Vacation Bible School every summer for the_noemailmunity. Through Faith Promise Giving, HBC supports over 65 missionaries. We have two full- time positions (Senior Pastor and Assistant/Youth Pastor) and two part-time support positions (Administrative Assistant and Custodian). HBC offers Sunday School classes for all ages, a nursery, Sunday morning worship services, and choir. HBC also offers Wednesday night Bible study and prayer; AWANA club; teen programs; and, Word of Life programs to include summer camp. HBC averages 105 attendees for Sunday morning worship. We have four deacons and a congregation that volunteers and serves in various capacities. HBC has been blessed to see many saved and baptized over its 32 years.

HBC is located in Ashburn, VA, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Ashburn has grown rapidly over the last 32 years. It has a population of approximately 50,000 people with a median age of 35. The median household i_noemaile is $124K and the median property value is $479K. Ashburn is located in Loudoun County and is known for its top public schools; access to biking and hiking trails; and, its many high-tech businesses.

Recently, our founding Pastor announced his plans to retire in 2020. We are now seeking a new Pastor who can shepherd us, grow our ministries, grow our impact in Ashburn, and help us to fulfill God's calling for our church.

General Expectations:

Heritage Baptist Church is a pastor-led, deacon-supported, independent Baptist church. We seek an ordained Baptist minister with a forward-thinking vision who can lead the congregation to the next level. This man will have a heart for outreach, soul winning and discipleship; and, he will serve as pastor, shepherd, and administrator of the ministry.

Qualifications:
Spiritual: A pastor-teacher (Ephesians 4:11,12). Meets the qualifications of I Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:5-9.
Educational: A Bible-based education, preferably with a master's degree or above.
Experience In: Preaching; teaching; counseling; and, leading ministries in soul winning, stewardship, missions, and discipleship.
Theological: Is non-charismatic and holds a premillennial, pretribulational view of future events.

Specific Responsibilities: (See Appendix B)

Preaches the Word and administers the ordinances; has charge of all services and ministries; and, serves as administrative overseer of the church.

Is sensitive to matters affecting the solvency of the church and its financial health.

Provides Christian guidance and care to include: visitation, weddings, counseling, and funerals.

Calls meetings of the church, deacons, or_noemailmittees; and, serves as moderator.

Supervises and mentors officers, persons involved in a ministry, and employees. Exercises his responsibility and authority to dismiss any person not in harmony with the pastor or program of the church, should it be necessary.
