FREDERICKSBURG UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP LEADER
Principal Function: Oversee the ministry of Fredericksburg UMC as it relates to leading and_noemailanizing the music and supporting team for contemporary worship. Part-time: 20 Hours/week
Supervision: Music Director in consultation with the Lead Pastor
Responsibilities:
Leads the congregation in the music portion of contemporary worship
Prepares and_noemailanizes the Praise Team singers and musicians each week
Helps set the spiritual tone for the Praise Team and for service participants
Prepares visuals or other program/team support items that support worship in collaboration with staff and volunteers
Organizes and prepares quality rehearsals in preparation for worship
Maintains and oversees equipment used for contemporary worship
Selects music in collaboration with Music Director and Pastoral Team
Participates in worship services that are streamed and/or live cast
Participates in planning and oversight of special services – Christmas, Easter and others as needed
Available as needed for special functions such as Vacation Bible School or special events as designated appropriate by supervisor or pastoral team
Abilities:
Skilled in use of technology in worship to include sound, lighting,_noemailputers and video streaming and projection
Proficient working with chord charts, sheet music, and guitar tabs
Quality vocal skills required, as well as the ability to lead others in these skills
Committed to ongoing personal and professional growth
Strong relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading worship
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain records and databases to support program functions
Utilize and administer church software programs that relate to contemporary worship
Create and submit information for websites, bulletin boards, newsletters and other resources in coordination with church staff and leaders
Maintain and inventory music and equipment for contemporary worship services
Attend necessary staff and_noemailanizing meetings
Salary: $20,000 (with experience considerations)
