SENIOR PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

The senior pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach Biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, and to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life.
Principle Function:
Coordinate and plan with the worship ministry; conduct weekly worship services; prepare and deliver sermons; lead in the observance of ordinances;
Preach Sunday morning services;
Provide oversight and direction to all ministries of the church;
Lead and manage staff by conducting weekly ministry staff meetings;
Nurture, shepherd, and lead the ministry staff;
Conduct job performance evaluations for staff member(s) and provide clear direction and vision-casting to the staff as a whole;
Provide visionary pastoral leadership and set attainable short-term and long-term goals;
Build momentum and growth for the church as a whole;
Cultivate and train the church body for leadership and ministry roles;
Develop the lay leaders to biblically serve the church through monthly meetings;
Visit and minister to members and guests;
Visit members who are hospitalized or in care facilities;
Track the budget and keep the church informed of budgetary needs;
Cast a vision for the use of the church properties and assets to properly steward the blessings that God has given the church;
Perform weddings and funerals for members as requested.
