Upper Elementary Coordinator Job - Northwest Church, Fresno, California

The Upper Elementary Coordinator oversees all Sunday morning and midweek ministry directed toward leading and teaching children in grades 4 through 6 and provides training and support to the Children's Ministry volunteer team. The primary focus of this position is to develop and equip leaders to minister to children in a small group format as part of our programming.

Qualifications
-Preferred: At least two years of staff experience in a Children's or Youth Ministry role with experience managing adult volunteers.
-Required: At least two years of experience in a significant Children's or Youth Ministry volunteer role in a large children's ministry.
-BA or BS degree preferred; some college required.

-A passion for CM and to see families grow in their faith together.
-Experience in recruiting, motivating, equipping and scheduling volunteer leaders to minister to children & families.
-Effective_noemailmunication skills (written, verbal & interpersonal).
-Demonstrated ability to understand and relate to children and their families.
-Ability to reach out and connect with families in the church.
-Preferable experience with 252 Basics curriculum and knowledge of the Orange strategy.
-Competent with basic_noemailputer software (Excel, Word, Publisher) and the capacity to learn new software.

Responsibilities

General:
-Participates fully as a member of the Children's team for vision casting, ministry direction, and planning.
-Participates as a member of the staff of Northwest Church and be available to assist in general duties as necessary.
-Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Children's Pastor.

Leading and Managing:
-Identifies, recruits, trains, and leads volunteers for CM programs for grades 4 to 6.

Curriculum:
-Prepares, evaluates, monitors, and distributes curriculum for CM programs.
-Prepares Bible lessons and sermons and leads the teaching team for grades 4 to 6.

Communication:
-Responsible for_noemailmunication of appropriate CM programs, events, and responsibilities to parents, children, and volunteers.

Special Projects:
-Responsible for teaming with other Northwest Church ministry departments to provide church-wide events targeting children and their families. Examples include Fallapalooza, VBS, Easter and Christmas weekend services.
