Purpose: Enhance the Sunday morning in-house and on-line worship experience by raising the level of all Sunday morning media-related ministries to the accepted standards and practice of the modern church.
Sunday morning (7:00 AM – 12:30 PM): Oversee the media production of the 9 AM Contemporary, and 11 AM Traditional worship services by recruiting, scheduling, training, and directing a small team of volunteers in the following areas:
Audio: Ensure all audio cues are prepared, and levels and equalization are actively monitored.
Set up/tear down all sound equipment as needed (before/between/after services). Proactively
interface with Pastors, liturgists and band members to assess and address any issues.
Lyric Slides: Ensure all lyrics are accurate and formatted in a sensible, consistent form.
Ensure the timing of lyrics is such that worshipers can confidently rely on the on-screen lyrics.
We currently use Media-Shout as our presentation software.
Video (in-house): Ensure all camera shots are prepared and aid in the focus and flow of the
worship service.
Livestream: Ensure the on-line worship experience accurately reflects the in-house worship
experience (sight and sound).
Lighting: Ensure appropriate lighting throughout services.
Thursday evening (5:30 – 8:30 PM): Set up all audio equipment for band rehearsal. Mix sound and run lyric slides during the rehearsal time (7 – 8:30 PM), to ensure all media is prepared for Sunday mornings.
Experience: This position requires hands-on media experience in a worship setting, expertise in several of the areas mentioned above, and willingness to recruit, train, and direct volunteers in a kind and respectful manner.
10 - 12 hours/week total
In addition to the designated on-campus hours indicated above, approximately 2 - 4 flexible hours/week are required to work on or off-site as needed to interface with staff members and volunteers, address technical issues, prepare services, install/trouble-shoot/repair software and equipment.
The Technical Director must be available to work all major church holidays –
Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, etc.
Other events (weddings, funerals, concerts, etc.) may be contracted depending upon availability.
Reports to Minister of Music.
