Primary Function
The Director of Communication will assist in planning, creating,_noemailanizing, and implementing effective_noemailmunication messages internally and externally for the church and_noemailmunity it serves. The individual will support church and ministry leaders in conveying their vision and_noemailmunications priorities to appropriate audiences.
Major Duties
o Serve as managing editor of Millington First Baptist's media outlets including:
o Creativity
· Creating, designing and using graphics and other media in effective_noemailmunications.
o Electronic
· Touch Point mass e-mail and targeted audience e-mail.
· Social Media
· Website page additions and edits
· Weekly Bulletin
o Print
· Church-wide print media and ministry specific artwork
· Special bulletins and handouts
· Missions Month Brochure (February)
o Graphics
· Integrate_noemailmunications plans and requests on both churchwide and ministry specific levels into the planning and conceptualizing of print media.
· Conceptualize, design, and provide artwork for electronic media as assigned.
· TV/video
· Web and social media
· Collaborating with others in the creation of graphic designs
· Managing graphics workflows
· Working with vendors on the delivery of printed materials (paper, t-shirt, mugs, banners, etc.)
· Oversee freelance graphic artists as needed.
o This entails:
o Integrating_noemailmunication plans and requests on both church-wide and ministry specific levels into the planning and conceptualizing of the above media.
o Editing of the above media and coordinating with ministry leaders who oversee the_noemailmunication request.
o Participating in the creative direction, design, proofing, and printing phases of the above media.
o Managing and scheduling the day-to-day production of the above media.
o Coordinate and edit news releases for mass use (newsletter, pulpit, social media, e-mail, etc.)
o Write and edit copy for other media (brochures, advertising, scripts, etc.) as assigned.
o Managing the proofing process for all graphics and documents.
o Willing to order promotional materials for various church-wide events or programs and assist ministry leaders with their order needs.
o Serves as air traffic controller, keeping_noemailmunications requests on time and within budget.
o Is knowledgeable of current creative,_noemailmunication and technological trends. Always looking for opportunities to use this information to_noemailmunicate with the_noemailmunity and church family more effectively.
o Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills. This individual serves as the "eyes" for all things print and electronic, looking for clear_noemailmunication, brand presence and consistency. Skills

· A plus: Knows or can quickly learn specific software and programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), Hootsuite, Twillo and others.
Work
· Days/Hours: 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday. However, on occasion you may need to work late and weekends as production needs dictate, especially during peak seasons and during big productions.
· Compensation Plan: Not-Exempt, salaried
· Safety/Ergonomic Issues: Occasional work with heavy equipment, climbing ladders, etc. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
