Pastor
Job Description:
Hickory Point Church is seeking a full time Pastor to assist the congregation in overseeing the life and direction of Hickory Point Church. The Pastor should have a firm grasp on the purpose, values, and strategy of the Church and the ability to assist key leadership_noemailmittees with its mission. The Pastor will offer pastoral guidance and spiritual leadership to the congregation and will assist the congregation in carrying out the Church's systems, practices, and policies responsibly and effectively supporting its ministry activities. The beginning salary paid will be negotiated, depending on previous experience, and the range at this time is $15,600-$24,000. As membership grows the salary will be adjusted.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1) Preaching and Teaching - The Pastor will be the primary preacher for worship services with a minimum of 50 Sundays annually. The Pastor will also provide leadership in planning and executing the Adult Education programs and other programs in discipleship and ministry training, in coordination with the Board of Elders/Deacons.
2) Strategic Leadership and Planning - The Pastor is to assist in strategic planning and in the execution of the Church's purpose. Help define strategic goals and the vision of the Board of Elders/Deacons and assist in implementing the plan by:
• Preaching the Word of God during Worship Services and Bible Study.
• Monitoring the spiritual pulse of the congregation through review and accountability.
• Ensuring programs are effectively aligned to meet strategic goals.
3) Leader in Spiritual Development -The Pastor serves as a leader to member volunteers, and will mentor members in their respected areas of ministry by:
• Overseeing training and development.
• Maintaining efficient and effective lines of_noemailmunication between the members with a humble attitude.
• Overseeing the pastoral care needs of the congregation and, as necessary, assist with other members in hospital visitations, home visits, counseling, marriages, and funerals.
• Keeping information confidential when working with congregation members to better counsel and_noemailfort in times of crisis and need; a Pastor should respect a congregation member's privacy during and after pastoral counseling.
• Seeking opportunities to continue professional development to maintain a strong and current understanding of the ministry and faith.

Hickory Point Church (HPC) is a non-denominational Christian Church. It is a landmark and long standing constant for the Hickory Point / Fredonia Community. Qualifications:
The Pastor Must -
• Accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and possess a strong faith in God and a desire to help others.
• Exemplify the personal behavior that is characteristic of the standards required in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
• Attend scheduled Bible study, Sunday School, Church-related activities, and events.
• Ability to pass background checks as established by Hickory Point Church.
• Provide at least three references pertaining to ministry experience and/ or additional references.
