Qualifications and Expectations of our Ryderwood Church (RCC), Role Accountabilities
These are the qualifications and expectations of the RCC Body which include the Pastoral role accountabilities, standards, duties, and compensation. Compensation will be provided to the Pastor as a "self-employed independent contractor." No health insurance, sick leave, or other benefits will provided. Personal taxes are the responsibility of the Pastor. "Paid Absence" will be paid as three (3) weeks annually for 3 years. Four (4) weeks will be awarded after completing 3 years of service. It is not considered "vacation pay." There will be no reduction of compensation in the month in which it is taken. There are NO Youth Programs or Child Care Programs to oversee.
A. The Pastor will agree to and follow the then current RCC by-laws.
B. The Pastor will adhere to non-denominational, Bible-based theology. The Pastor will make any reasonable accommodation in special circumstances for pastoral services requested by the congregation such as memorial services and funerals as approved by the Church Board, of which the Pastor is a member.
C. A PARSONAGE, with 2 bedrooms, is available to the Pastor, and located one block from the Church. Monthly mortgage is paid by the Church and considered part of the total compensation.
D. The candidate will provide professional references from previous Church Boards or appropriate representative(s) of those congregations that reveal a Godly, moral character, and pastoring that reflects Christ's scriptural commands.
E. The Pastor must be qualified and available to deliver weekly Bible-based sermons and faith holidays' services, and to perform marriages, baptisms, memorial or funeral services for congregants based on Holy scripture as requested by the Board. Additional compensation will only be provided by the Church for marriages, and then may be provided instead by the wedding party in lieu of the Church doing so. Any other offerings personally presented to the Pastor may be retained by him at his discretion.
F. The Pastor will be available to provide home or hospital visitations within a reasonable distance, perhaps not more than 50 miles, to congregants and Ryderwood community members to support their health and emotional needs.
G. The Pastor will hold cooperative accountability with the Board for the Men's and Women's weekly Bible study group, and other church events when scheduled. The Pastor should consider attending Men's group as a spiritual leader and educator, and as a "local outreach" to community visitors.
H. The Pastor will participate in and lead when needed any "local outreach events" sponsored by the Church such as town gatherings, picnics, etc. that support evangelism of the community.
I. The Pastor will attend monthly Board meetings as the Board's Spiritual Leader as prescribed by our by-laws.
