Job Description:
SENIOR PASTOR
New Faith Baptist Church of Christ (FKA Metropolitan Baptist Church) has been in existence for 66 years. Currently the active membership is about 75 parishioners and there are seven active ministries. The church is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor who is called by God and equipped to effectively preach and teach the Word of God. The candidate must be able to fulfill the spiritual needs of the congregation through visitations, prayer, conducting weddings, funerals and administering the ordinances of the church.
The candidate must also possess the biblical and spiritual qualities as outlined in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9.
Pastoral Qualifications
Be a licensed and ordained minister in the Baptist faith.
Be a visionary with sound judgment and discernment.
Possess effective communication skills (written and oral).
Growth oriented and pastoral care capability.
Demonstrate financial awareness and responsibility.
Committed to continuing education and development.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a congregation across all ages and gender.
Possess effective administrative skills, able to organize and lead through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Pastoral Responsibilities
Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, fostering a culture of faith, love, and service.
Provide pastoral care for members of the congregation, including visiting the sick, counseling those in need, and offering support during times of crisis.
Perform other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications, as required.
Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship through the development and implementation of small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs.
Work with church leadership and staff to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church's growth and leadership development.
Engage and build relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities, and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
Oversee the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and personnel management in the church office. Facilitate annual church business meetings as well as foster fiscal responsibility and transparency with financial activities of the church.
Mentor, supervise, and support church staff and volunteers, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment with robust leadership development by attending meetings at least bi-annually.
