The Church in Brielle is seeking to fill the position of Church Administrator. This is a part-time position of 30 hours per week. The Church in Brielle is located in Brielle, NJ on the beautiful New Jersey shore. The Church in Brielle was established in 1957. Our denomination is The Reformed Church in America. Our congregation numbers approximately 200 people. We are an ecumenical church with members from many denominations and backgrounds.
The Church Administrator manages the administrative affairs of the church. The church administrator works with the pastor and Consistory to carry out the church's ministry responsibilities and plays a key role in overall_noemailmunications within the Congregation.
The Church Administrator performs all secretarial duties for the pastor and congregation. This includes preparing Sunday bulletins, correspondence, filing, taking and directing phone calls and email messages, keeping the church calendar up to date and_noemailplete, maintaining office equipment, and ordering supplies as needed. Also maintain the church membership database and church records and documents.
The Church Administrator is responsible for maintaining financial records for the church:
Maintain cash receipts and disbursements. Voucher invoices and write checks.
Post all i_noemailing cash/checks to QuickBooks and the checkbook and update financial data.
Record annual pledges and post financial giving to the individual member pledge records.
Prepare quarterly and year-end contribution reports.
Prepare monthly and year-end i_noemaile and expense reports covering all operations and ministries of the church.
Produce, file and distribute appropriate end-of-the year tax forms.
Prepare payroll for church staff and The Church in Brielle Nursery School. Compute payroll deductions for withholding and FICA and federal and state taxes.
Pay pastor's pension, telephone, mileage, dental and professional expenses.
Compensation is negotiable based upon experience and qualifications
Minimum of 2 years experience in a finance/bookkeeping and administration/secretarial setting
Knowledge of accounting practices and bookkeeping procedures
Previous church administrative experience desirable
Must be proficient in the use of_noemailputers and Microsoft Office software products
QuickBooks experience required
Possess strong interpersonal capabilities including both written and oral_noemailmunications skills.
B_noemaile familiar with the_noemailanization of the church as well as its policies and procedures
Have the ability to work independently
