Job Description:

Job Summary
The office manager is a ministry support position, will report directly to the business administrator and will coordinate operations with clerical, telephone assistance and reception, volunteers, media, connections with the Weekday School and support to the church staff. The schedule of this position is 40 hours per week, up to 4 hours as scheduled on Sunday mornings.

Job Functions will include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Clerical –
A. Collect baptism, death, birth, wedding records and memorial information
B. Calendar back-up to the business administrator
• Schedule events, maintain contracts, collect i_noemailing liability insurance forms for events, and collect rent for room use
C. Collect and keep daily records of members or family of a members, concerning hospitalization, death, special occasions, etc. Add collected data to Sunday morning announcements, weekly worship bulletins and monthly newsletters
D. Provide support as requested to the program and clergy staff

2. Reception –
A. Answer i_noemailing and transfer phone calls
B. Respond and/or direct members, solicitors, guests, repair person(s), and staff
C. In Christ’s Way
• Answer i_noemailing calls regarding assistance for rent/utility/food/bus tickets
• Provide assistance to individuals and families requesting assistance with rent/utility/food/bus ticket(s)
• Coordinate food distribution with the food volunteers
D. Provide office support, reception and hospitality on Sunday mornings as scheduled by the business administrator
3. Volunteers -
A. Gather, train and coordinate volunteers to assist with various support tasks including telephones, reception, mailings, publications, and support to the program and clergy staff

4. Publications and media –
A. Proofread all publications including worship bulletins and newsletters
B. Provide backup support to the business administrator with online media, including Facebook, electronic newsletters, and web page editing

5. Weekday School Connections –
A. Develop, encourage, and facilitate connections between the Church and the Weekday School with publicity, operations, and media

The successful candidate will:
• Possess the ability to be a team player, support First Church’s Vision, Purpose and Journey, ability to maintain_noemailanized files and possess strong_noemailmunication skills that include knowledge of current_noemailmunication mediums
• Understand and exhibit a culture of we_noemailing and hospitality
• Possess a working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Possess a strong understanding of the English language, punctuation, and grammar usage
• Possess a strong telephone and personal greeting
• Possess a strong knowledge of online media usage, including Facebook and inte_noemail_noemailmunications
