Hope Evangelical Free Church (HEFC), Springfield, Illinois, a growing EFCA church with forward thinking leadership, sixteen paid staff members and an average weekend attendance of 1,100 is seeking a full time Worship & Arts Pastor. The Worship & Arts Pastor, reporting directly to the Senior Pastor, will have the responsibility for leading worship at Hope that is dynamic, engaging and relevant and will create, through recruitment, coaching and mentoring of volunteers, a worship experience at Hope that allows participants in worship to encounter Christ. The successful candidate will be an individual who will be a leader, administrator, discipler, and shepherd of the amazing artists that God has already brought to Hope and views worship and arts as being all about people not performance, while keeping the bar of excellence high.
The successful candidate will possess knowledge, skills and experience consistent with the duties, responsibilities and requirements of the position including, but not limited to, appropriate music and arts training and the ability to play one or more musical instruments, chart music and lead worship. Candidates must possess a relevant undergraduate degree and an advanced degree in a relevant discipline would be a plus. Seminary training and church experience is a plus but not a requirement. The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience in the areas of worship directing, worship & arts or music ministry.
Salary Benefits – Salary will be within the established range for Worship & Arts Pastors as defined by the Compensation Handbook for Church Staff (published by Christianity Today International). The successful candidate will be placed appropriately within that range considering education, background and experience.
