Duties and Responsibilities:
To lead congregational worship, including:
o Participate in the Service Design Team for the planning of creative, holistic,
thematic, reformed worship, maintaining consistency between campuses;
o Collaborate with Worship Arts Director in choosing appropriate songs for worship;
o Lead the worship band, coordinating/conducting rehearsals, disseminating
information, and_noemailmunicating expectations;
o Identify, recruit, train, and nurture volunteers with gifts in music, incorporating
those gifts in the worship ministry of SHPC;
o Work with and coordinate volunteers as needed to support the Worship teams.
o Maintain a high standard of excellence in all aspects of worship presentation;
o As part of the staff team, support and resource other ministry areas as needed and
The Worship Leader must be deeply_noemailmitted to Jesus Christ and His church, possess a working knowledge of Biblical content and be_noemailfortable working within the Reformed tradition of the church.
The Worship Leader must have the gifts and skills necessary to lead congregational singing, alone or with a band, to build and lead teams of volunteers, and to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the staff, session,_noemailmittees and membership of the church.
The Worship Leader needs to have:
o an attitude of other-centeredness and the ability to graciously express leadership,
o an openness to new ideas, o a high energy level and apply it to creating a quality worship experience. o proficiency as a vocalist and instrumentalist (preferably guitar)
o the ability to coordinate and lead band
The Worship Leader must be:
a self-starter, collaborative and team-oriented,_noemailanized, punctual, pressure-tolerant, and
dependable in meeting deadlines and goals.
This is a part time position, estimated at 10 hours/week. Vacation is four weeks a year, which includes up to four Sundays.
