If you are called to share the love of Christ with preschool kids and their families, The MET is seeking someone who is passionate about engaging children, parents, and volunteers to lead our preschool ministry. The successful candidate will be an_noemailanized, energetic, and highly relational leader who is able to cast vision for the ministry, think strategically, and build strong relationships.
This position is directly responsible for overseeing, planning, coordinating and implementing a safe, relational and biblically-based program for children from newborn through kindergarten for the MET Kids Ministry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Exhibit an attitude that represents Jesus and_noemailmunicate the spiritual values and mission of the MET, as directed by leadership.
Recruit, interview and place volunteers for events related to Preschool Ministry such as Sunday morning small groups, AWANA, VBS, and Craft team.
Understand developmentally appropriate practice in Early Childhood Education and ensure its use in the classroom.
Provide leadership to several teams responsible for executing Sunday morning services and other events. These teams include Preschool Coordinators, Craft team, AWANA Cubbie leadership team, VBS Preschool leadership team and Discovery Days staff.
Provide rosters and reports, review attendance and insure correct assignments for Preschool events through the use of FellowshipOne.
Review, edit and provide First Look curriculum for use during Preschool Sunday school.
Assist the Kids Pastor with planning and conducting Volunteer Appreciation events, Family events, Child Dedication, Easter and Christmas events, etc.
Develop and conduct training and motivational meetings for preschool volunteers and child care staff.
Assist the Kids Pastor in planning and managing Kids Ministry and Child Care Ministry expenses not to exceed budget targets and as directed by leadership.
Develop intentional relationships with preschoolers, their families, Kids Ministry volunteers and child care staff for the purpose of building a strong team base to a_noemailplish the mission of making disciples of Jesus.
Lead the Child Care Ministry through hiring and development of child care staff, managing the child care budget including payroll, and assisting and coaching the Child Care Supervisors as needed.
Model and encourage personal spiritual development.
Resolve conflict using biblical principles as outlined in Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Must be a fully_noemailmitted follower of Jesus Christ.
High School diploma required, college degree preferred. Additional college credits in seminary classes are a plus and will aid in the spiritual leadership needs of this ministry.
Minimum of three years of directly related ministry experience in a similar position of leadership with experience in budgeting.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher.
Working knowledge of FellowshipOne database program, First Look curriculum by Orange and ServiceU Planning software is beneficial.
Member of The MET Church (or willing to transfer membership to The MET Church).
Must agree with and act in accordance with The MET Church beliefs.
