Spiritual and Personal Qualifications:
Be_noemailmitted to God- Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit- as primary allegiance, be a baptized believer, be devoted to Scripture as God's Word, be dedicated to spiritual disciplines and personal growth, exhibit a teachable spirit and a servant's heart, and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in life.
Meet the qualification of an Elder as established in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
Be in full accord with the Bible's teaching and CBC's statement of faith, purpose and vision.
Be highly people-oriented with an outstanding ability to_noemailmunicate interpersonally.
Be a strong motivator of Christians to be growing and serving disciples of Jesus Christ.
Have a strong_noemailanizational and implementation ability.
Education, Experience and Credentialing:
A college graduate and ordained minister with formal theological training and is a lifelong learner; Master's degree is preferred.
Five years of experience leading with churches of at least 300-400 member size is desired.
Demonstrated ability to help a congregation grow in spiritual maturity through preaching, teaching, discipleship groups, administration, and pastoral care.
B_noemaile a member of CBC and see himself as a team member with the staff, Elders and the congregation to carry out the mission and vision of Crossroads Bible Church.
The primary responsibility for the role is to oversee the Small Group ministry of the church, following the discipleship model for CBC. Recruit and train Small Group Leaders and coaches. Promote attendance in Small Groups throughout the whole church.
Develop and maintain a system to help the ne_noemailers to connect, grow and serve in the church. Work closely with the Lead Pastor in recruiting new ministry leaders and help develop new ministries as God directs.
Sunday Preaching Team:
Be a part of a preaching team with the Lead Pastor to develop relevant topical and exegetical messages. Preach regularly as mutually agreed with the Lead Pastor.
Generally a 40-hour week is required. This includes regular office hours, as well as some evenings, as needed.
Two full days off are allotted per week (Friday and Saturday unless otherwise agreed, though ministry activities may take place on these days, in which case in lieu time off may be taken, as agreed with the Lead Pastor).
Occasionally extra time may be required to a_noemailplish ministry goals (under the direction of the Lead pastor).
Salary and Benefits:
Salary for this position is determined by the Elders,_noemailmensurate with experience.
A_noemailprehensive benefit package is offered, including medical, dental after 30 days and retirement contributions at 3% of salary after_noemailpletion of first year. Paid vacation, holiday, sick, and bereavement time are offered as outlined in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.
The Associate Pastor is encouraged to enhance his skills for ministry through seminars, workshops, etc. Expenses shall be budgeted in the annual budget. Time away shall be approved by the Lead Pastor.
CBC sees the Associate Pastor as a vital part of shaping the ministry of the church and a partner with the Elders, staff, and congregation in a_noemailplishing the purpose and goals of the church.
