The primary purpose of the position is to bring the children of Restoration Church, a campus of Floris United Methodist Church into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ by providing fun and faith growing opportunities for children. This position works under the direction of and in collaboration with the Children's Ministries Director of Floris Herndon Campus to implement curriculum and educational materials to the children of the Reston campus. In addition this position will be responsible for collaborating,_noemailmunicating and implementing_noemailmunity events and other children's discipleship opportunities.
Following the direction and guidance of the Herndon Campus Children's Ministries Director in support of and in-line with the vision of the Reston campus Lead Pastor, this position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of faith growing opportunities for children. This position recruits and equips volunteer and volunteer leaders, determines requirements for, and ensures availability of facilities, supplies and equipment to support Sunday Children's Programming onsite at the Reston Campus.
Creates a sustainable and affordable structure for Sunday Children's Programming and identifies problem areas and r_noemailmends operational policies and practices to the Herndon Campus Children's Ministries Director.
Attends all necessary meetings as directed by the Herndon Campus Children's Ministries Director in order to ensure that when dealing with internal affairs and making day to day management decisions that they are in-line with the Herndon Campus Children's Ministries Director. Unique to this position will be the added responsibility of working directly with the Lead Pastor of the Reston campus to ensure the program(s) also meet the internal management, strategy and direction of the Reston Campus.
Qualifications and Aptitudes
BA or equivalent.
Willing spirit and attentiveness to children. Experience with children. Ability to be present on Sunday mornings and during_noemailmunity/children discipleship events.
Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production. Willingness and ability to_noemailanize and_noemailplete administrative functions in direct support of Sunday morning programing and other children's discipleship opportunities.
A broad understanding of Christian principals is essential for purposes of researching and ensuring Sunday morning curriculum reflects clarity and strength of United Methodist values.
