Overview of Position:
For Sunday Worship: Build & direct in a praise team of diverse and gifted musicians; continuously recruit musicians who will volunteer to serve on the Praise Team; select a variety of musical songs for the contemporary services; create appealing multimedia presentations for maximum worship experience; hold weekly musical rehearsals; promote spiritual development; ensure the maintenance of sound equipment and submit proposals for new equipment; oversee setup and tear down equipment for practices and Sunday Worship.
For Wednesday Youth Worship (CHAOS): Recruit & train youth volunteers for the Youth Praise Team; supervise the music selection; build a library of appropriate music for the Praise Team; train students to assist with the worship service including audio visual needs; create media presentations with lyrics for services; recruit & train youth volunteers to set up and tear down equipment; assist with additional worship responsibilities that arise when the Director of Student Ministry is unavailable; run an all-day retreat once a year for the Youth Praise Team; collaborate with the Director of Student Ministry to enhance the CHAOS Worship service.
Responsibilities
For Sunday Worship:
• Build and direct a Praise Team of diverse and gifted musicians including but not limited to keyboard player, vocalists, guitar, bass and percussion, who dedicate themselves to helping the congregation give glory and honor to God
• Be a musically contributing member of the Praise Team
• Continuously recruit musicians who will volunteer to serve on the Praise Team in order to rotate the sharing of responsibilities
• Be able to provide praise music as a soloist as needed when other musicians are unavailable
• Develop a consistent musical format appropriate for each service. CBJ & OASIS will have the
same musical selections but the order of presentation may be different
• Selected songs should be diverse & occasionally include a traditional hymn with the style of the music falling within the culture of the contemporary service
• Create an appealing multimedia presentation for maximum worship experience which includes blending in slides sent by the pastor
• Hold weekly musical rehearsals with priority emphasis on spiritual development which includes a devotion, a time of sharing, and most importantly prayer
• Ensure the maintenance of sound equipment and submit proposals for new equipment

Qualifications:

• Ability to play either a keyboard or guitar
• Experience with recruiting volunteer musicians
• Appropriate references and background check
