To design, lead and direct First United Methodist Church of Cocoa in creating an alternative modern worship experience where folks encounter God and want more.
To contribute to the design and flow of our traditional service.
To help us discover creative ways to share the message through the music and arts. This includes songs, specials, drama, video, stage design, graphics, and more.
To coordinate efforts to build up a new contemporary congregation, including engagement with the larger community.
To serve as part of the Ministry Team, assisting the pastor as needed.
Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)
The music and arts at the contemporary service:
build, oversee and nurture the teams for vocals, band, tech, drama and multi-media.
contribute to the worship gathering by accompanying, singing, leading, praying, etc... as required.
planning, directing and coordinating the various teams in preparation for the worship gatherings.
Serve as worship director:
work with the Senior Pastor and a Worship Planning Team with vision, brainstorming, and producing creative ideas for use in the worship gatherings and special events.
supervise, direct and oversee the 11 am organist/choir director.
coordinate all elements contributing to the gatherings and special events.
coordinate the flow and feel of the services, including announcements, transitions, and takeaways.
handle all issues related to audio, video, lighting, or music equipment, supplies, etc. including repair, purchases and budget management.
anointed by God, passionate for the ministry of worship leading.
accomplished musician (keyboard and/or guitar) and vocalist.
proven ability to design and lead people in the authentic worship of God.
entrepreneurial spirit to create new ministries and faith communities.
an appreciation of and agreement with the United Methodist Church and Wesleyan theology.
ability to work well with the pastor and others in a spirit of trust and excellence.
ability to enlist and lead a worship team.
experience with or oversight of musicians and development of the musical ability of others.
knowledge of audio and video systems and related technical operations.
expertise in graphics, video editing, websites and social media
knowledge of live streaming and pre-presenter, media shout, easy worship and planning center online.
B.A. in music or worship arts preferred.
