Overview. We are looking for an individual who loves Jesus and wants to serve him with his/her gifts and talents in the creative arts. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to lead a team of_noemailmunication/design professionals in a busy work environment. This person must be a capable and engaging storyteller, able to bring alignment to the message across a variety of different ministry areas.

The role of the Director of Communications (DoC) is to oversee the_noemailmunication strategy of Fellowship Greenville in collaboration with the Directional Team. This requires a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, language, and strategy of Fellowship Greenville.

The Director of Communications will be responsible for the following:

Oversight and Execution of Communications. The DoC manages a team of creative content developers and liases with ministry leaders to produce simple ways for people to connect with God and Fellowship Greenville, helping to bring alignment to all of areas of ministry. The DoC is responsible for ensuring a consistent, distraction-free experience across multiple touchpoints:

Web Site-Act as "product owner" of new external web site_noemailing 5/2017, powered by the Rock RMS. Manage and approve updates, according to predefined approval process. Ensure the church maintains an effective and consistent web presence.

Mobile App- Act as "product owner" of mobile app, powered by PushPay. Manage and approve updates.

Email/Snail Mail- Review and approve all bulk email/snail mail messages for style, tone, and content. Prepare promotional/informational bulk email/snail mail messages, as needed.

Print- Deliver excellence in timeliness, accuracy, design, layout, and ease of use for all print materials. Manage and edit the Life in Fellowship magazine to tell_noemailpelling stories, published three times a year for the congregation.

Video-Manage team to produce creative and effective videos, including monthly video announcements, monthly outreach highlights, and additional videos to support the ministry. Write scripts to tell_noemailpelling stories.

Social Media- Manage and develop content for social media messaging (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), using Hootsuite. Use Facebook Live to stream Sunday morning messages and other relevant content to users.

Promotions- Effectively promote church events among our congregation, using established prioritization and_noemailmunication guidelines.

Brand Management- Oversee the look and feel of all congregant-facing materials from Fellowship Greenville. Lead efforts to design all art and promotional materials with a high standard of creativity, excellence, and effectiveness, matching the FG Style Guide.

Sunday Morning Environment- Work closely with the Worship Pastor and the Connections Pastor to ensure guests and attendees receive a distraction-free, God-focused experience from the parking lot to the seats in each auditorium.
Ministry Plan- Creatively and effectively disseminate this in
formation to the congregation, annually.

Staff Supervision and Development. The DoC provides leadership to the Communications Team. The DoC will lead, evaluate, and mentor existing Communications staff and volunteers and prioritize future staffing needs. The responsibilities include:

-Supervise the Communications team (Project Manager and Multimedia Designer, plus freelancers, as needed) in day-to-day activities.
-Oversee the training and development of the Communications team.
-Recruit and empower volunteers to deliver excellence in timeliness, accuracy, design, layout, and ease of use (artists, designers, editors, photographers, writers, etc.).
-Manage the Communications budget.

Modeling Biblical Priorities. The DoC is responsible for upholding the Biblical priorities and core values of Fellowship Greenville while growing in a personal relationship with Christ. The DoC strives to fulfill his/her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships, and actions. These objectives are a_noemailplished by the following:

Reports to: Executive Director of Ministry
Relates Closely to: Worship Pastor, Teaching Pastors, Connections Pastor, Director of Worship Tech, Director of IT
Job Status: Full-time (40 hrs./week), Monday-Friday, plus occasional night/weekend work

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
-Four-year college degree
-At least 5-10 years experience in communications or marketing preferred, with increasing responsibilities and management
-Knowledge and expertise in print and digital design and development
-Knowledge and experience in video and web production
-Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
-Management and supervisory skills
-Strong written and oral communication skills including crafting and telling stories
-Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop a strategic communications plan
-Demonstrated ability to manage a communications or design team budget
-Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, and complete multiple projects at once
-Ability to work in a team-based environment
-Proficiency in Google Platform for word processing
-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
