Church: The Fellowship was founded by a group of 40 local believers meeting in a Grange Hall in 1977 and has developed into an established, thriving church of approximately 450 actively involved individuals. During its two worship services on Sunday morning, the_noemailbined total attendance would be 250+. Located on the South Shore, in the town of Easton (about 20 miles south of Boston), The Fellowship has had only two pastors in its almost 40-year history. Our current Senior Pastor of 22 years has announced his retirement, thus initiating our search process.
Overview: The Fellowship is looking for a servant leader to be our next Pastor. The church is "Elder led" and the Senior Pastor would join a group of 7 current Elders as the church leaders. We are eager to we_noemaile this man chosen by God into the church family, to support and follow their leadership, and to worship and minister together for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. A candidate who has the passion and skills to reach across multiple generations and create_noemailmon ground across those lines would be much desired.
Responsibilities: (The following summary is not meant to be_noemailprehensive, but is designed to provide candidates a taste of what the Senior Pastor position entails).
Preaching & Teaching: The Senior Pastor will be a skilled preacher and teacher of the Word of God and able to reach across the generations to get his message across successfully. These gifts would be used on a weekly basis.
Shepherding: The Senior Pastor would join our Pastoral Assistant to share the shepherding responsibilities of pastoral care, counseling, weddings and funerals. He will also possess a track record of establishing relationships with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Administration: The Senior Pastor will be responsible for a staff that includes the Pastoral Assistant/Missions Specialist; the Directors of Adult, Student, Children's, and Music Ministries; and an Administrative Assistant. He will join with the Elders to think strategically in regard to staff and vision of the church as well as to provide leadership development, spiritual & position growth opportunities, and career guidance.
Ministry Involvement: The Senior Pastor will partner with the Elders in actively evaluating all ministries and looking for ways to support, improve, and expand them. The next step may be to r_noemailmend other ministries or refocus existing ministries to further support the vision and outreach of The Fellowship.
