Responsibilities
Teaching
As primary spiritual leader have a passion for preaching and teaching from the pulpit
Emphasize expository teaching
Guide other FBCN church ministry leaders
Correct, and confront.
Caring
Administer the ordinances of Communion and baptisms
Challenge the members to serve in one or more ministries.to exercise their gifts
Lead in an effective program of visiting members and prospects
Perform weddings, funerals, infant/child dedications and premarital counseling
Counsel according to ability
Vision
Communicate the church's purpose and values, carrying out the church's vision/mission
Cooperate with local churches in appropriate ecumenical efforts and witness
Oversight
Support establishing priorities
Serve as a member of the Elder Board
Assist with the planning of the agenda of the Elder Board meetings
Oversee those who direct the operation of the Sunday services
Support the global and local mission outreach program of FBCN
Oversee the activities and positions of any associate staff member

About First Baptist Church of Narragansett:
A New England church is looking for a full-time senior pastor. The church is housed in a modern facility within the town of Narragansett, Rhode Island. It's located in a major summer tourist area. The church is prayerfully searching for a man called of God to shepherd His flock, has a strong knowledge of God's word, the desire to love and reach out to the community and the ability to communicate with all ages. Ministerial experience and a seminary degree is preferred.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Believe in and preach the Gospel (1 Cor. 15:3-4), meet the qualifications of an Elder (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4) and have the gift of Pastor/Teacher
Comply with the First Baptist Church of Narragansett (FBCN) Constitution and the FBCN Doctrinal Statement
Seminary graduate preferably with a master's degree
Preferably demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience as a pastor or associate pastor/staff position
Ordained or eligible to be ordained
