About our Student Ministry: We are a student ministry that believes in discipleship. We believe that disciples are not mass produced, they are handcrafted. You will be stepping into a ministry that averages weekly participation of 40-60 middle (6th-8th) and high school students in gathering and service opportunities. Additionally, our student ministry has a history of devoted adult leaders, involved parents, a committed student disciple team, a traditionally strong missions program, a partnership with Young Life, and a history of consistently moving in the direction of students. The student pastor will build on an already strong base that is ready to see the ministry move to the next level. The Student Pastor will serve as the vision-caster and pastor for the Student Ministries with a heavy focus on the development of leaders and contact work with students. The Student Pastor will serve as part of the Family Ministry Team in developing a holistic approach to shepherding the family.
About our Search: We're not just looking for someone to fill a pastoral role with our student ministries. We are looking for someone who wants to be ruined by the Gospel with us, someone who seeks his/her significance through authentic service in a church family- a team player who is prepared to help partner with families to unleash the message of the Gospel to all those who need and desire it. In addition to someone who is relationally driven, loves to laugh, strives for excellence, and handles conflict well, we seek someone demonstrating these qualities:
An active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by choices revealing one's heart, character, commitment and pursuit of the kingdom here on earth.
A passion to see families grow together in their faith, and a true calling to student ministry.
A desire for the local church to thrive while understanding her role in the big kingdom picture.
A purposeful pursuit of students through contact work engaging them where they are involved.
A marathoner, not a sprinter. We are intentional about finding someone to help cultivate a culture of discipleship within our community, and this is an expectation of both time and commitment which demands an enthusiastic response to the call to make disciples.
An ability to lead worship with the intent to teach youth to lead worship.
An organized and responsible vision caster: experience creating annual ministry budgets or the equivalent and responsibly managing and maintaining all resources.
A vitality for conceiving, initiating and following through with people and processes designed to spiritually equip students.
A leader able to effectively communicate his/her plan and passion which culminates in the building of a strong student team while involving oneself wholeheartedly to the overall church-wide team.
A lover of all God's people.
