Responsibilities
Preaching & teaching
Expositorily proclaim the Word of God that engages and challenges the life and intellect of a diverse congregation and culture.
Teach with humility and a deep knowledge of all of the Scriptures
Leadership and management
Lead the development of a vision for SCC for future ministry through the congregation to Steilacoom, surrounding areas, the nation and the world
Effectively lead, mentor, develop, empower and support the church staff and volunteers in collaborative ministry
Lead and work with SCC Council, assisting them in building up, maintaining and overseeing the spiritual welfare of the congregation, and for directing and overseeing all ministries and business affairs of this Church to the Glory of God.
Pastoral duties
Connect with and pray for our congregation
Lead the Congregation in Worship and spiritual formation
Provide pastoral care and counseling to members when necessary
Provide direction to the appointed staff/leaders of their respective ministries at SCC to encourage spiritual growth, development and support of members
Feeds, protects and nurtures the SCC flock

About Steilacoom Community Church:
We are an independent congregation, a people of faith, united by Christ in a Holy Covenant, empowered by the Holy Spirit to obey the Great Commandments (love God and our neighbor) and Great Commission (make disciples). We seek to build up the body of believers for the work of ministry. Our worship is designed with an emphasis on believers, though we welcome and encourage those who are investigating the faith to attend our services. Our worship service employs a blended style of music with sermons based on either a book of the Bible or a Topical Series. We see our Biblical Mission as Glorify, Grow and Go:

Qualifications:
5+ years of ministry experience: ordained or non-ordained, full time or part time, paid or unpaid.
Education: Masters of Divinity degree (or higher) from an evangelical accredited seminary
Fully embraces SCC's mission and core beliefs and adheres to Bylaws of the church (www.steilacoom.church)
Faithful disciple of Jesus, continuing to grow in his faith
Genuine love for people, including the unchurched and spiritually lost
Skilled in Gospel-centered teaching and preaching
Effective communicator - both orally and written
Skilled in leading, delegating, vision casting and coaching
A team builder - enjoys working with leadership, ministry volunteers, fostering spiritual development and gracefully resolving conflicts
Education: Masters of Divinity degree (or higher) from an evangelical accredited seminary
