Director of Groups and Volunteers Job - Dayspring UMC, Tyler, Texas

Position Name: Director of Groups and Volunteers

Status: Fulltime, salaried, non-ordained

Supervisor: Report directly to the Senior Pastor

Objective:

God is calling our church to feed our love starved culture by empowering Christ filled lives. We believe that creating environments where people can connect, grow and love is a crucial element of pursuing our church's mission. It is essential that those in our church Connect to_noemailmunity, Grow in their relationship with God and Love their neighbor. This is not only the backbone of our small group ministry, it is the foundation of our_noemailmunity's life.

Responsibilities:
Build on foundation of small group ministry and oversee continued development and growth of new, diverse Groups
Discover and develop curriculum that is designed to prepare participants to actively engage their faith outside the church
Identify, recruit, train, and shepherd effective Group facilitators and coaches
Assist in helping new members get plugged-in to our_noemailmunity
Identify, recruit, train, and shepherd effective Sunday Morning volunteer teams and volunteers for other church-wide special events
Other duties as assigned by pastor
Collaborate with staff and lay leaders to implement full ministry of church

Lives to connect to people and facilitate relationships within a_noemailmunity
At least two years' experience in the formation and development of groups and group leaders (or_noemailparable experiences)
Capacity to discern and implement vision
Capacity to mentor/disciple leaders in ways that grow their faith and leadership skills
Strong understanding of Biblical, theological and U.M. doctrinal concepts
Willingness to learn and align with the Mission, Values, Measures and Strategies of Dayspring UMC.
Capacity to deal with conflicts/problems and the ability to find and implement equitable solutions
Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree
Organized and dependable
