Youth/Associate Pastor
Job Description:
May be assigned a specific ministry target group to oversee.
In absence of Senior/Lead Pastor, receive his ministerial phone calls, lead staff meetings, and other ministerial duties.
To help with spiritual counseling needs from the church membership and requests from the_noemailmunity.
Pray with church members and guests who express difficulties in their life.
Help oversee the Benevolent Ministry of the church.
Teaches regular Bible study classes.
Assists in visiting nursing care facilities and homebound individuals/age group specific members.
Conducts weddings and funerals for church members.
Visits grieving church members and those in the hospital.
Represents the Senior/Lead Pastor at_noemailmittee and ministry team meetings as requested.
Cooperates with all staff to promote the entire ministry plan of the church.
Maintains a continued growth of personal calling and walk with the Lord through personal Bible study and prayer.
Maintains personal priorities with home and family as the spiritual leader.
Develops and exercises Personal Evangelism within and outside the church.
Gives graciously to the church through offerings.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
The Associate Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance.
Following the strategic guidance of the Senior Pastor; works with ministry leaders to ensure they receive appropriate development and training, provides necessary support to leaders so that they can foster and nurture their volunteers, connects leaders throughout the church.
Removes the Senior Pastor from any administrative burdens of the ministries by directing the daily business operations of these groups.
Performs administrative tasks such as developing programmatic budgets,_noemailanizing and managing volunteers,_noemailanizing and maintaining required documentation for external programs, and recruiting other participants.
Networks with_noemailmunity and local churches to develop partnerships.
The Senior Pastor provides an annual evaluation of the Associate Pastor's performance.
The Associate Pastor will be responsible and subject to Cornerstone policy and doctrine.
The Associate Pastor will cooperate with elected deacons while being subject to the Lead/Senior Pastor.
Work a minimum of a 40 hour workweek (25 office hours), with one day off, and must be flexible with work hours.
The Associate will be on call for 24/7 but will be given special provision to turn his phone off by the Lead/Senior Pastor during certain times.

About Cornerstone Church:
Cornerstone of Kirksville is a new and growing work, started in September of 2012. We seek to disciple God's people with the inerrant Scriptures and reach the lost with the uncompromising gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a fellowship made of mostly younger families with various denominational and theological backgrounds. Our worship is contemporary and sincere, the Scripture is taught exegetically, and our love for one another is genuine and sacrificial. The community we serve is small but unique with Truman State University (a liberal arts state university), ATSU (The first medical school training Doctors of Osteopathic medicine), many different industries like Kraft, and many surrounding family farms.
Qualifications:
- As a pastor you first must be able to articulate and teach the gospel as well as disciple through the Scriptures accurately by rightly dividing the Truth.
- Be in line with the Scriptures teachings found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 dealing with the qualifications of overseers.
- The ability to humbly work alongside other lay leaders as well as cultivate sincere relationships that foster a healthy fellowship.
- Able to work flexible hours and deal with the pressure of being on call most days and hours.
- Ability to connect with children up to college age christians.
- Willing and able to visit those you minister to in the community as well as engage with the community outside the church building.
- Be subject to the leadership and direction of the Lead Pastor.
- Some experience and theological training preferred but not necessary.
