PASTOR POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: PASTOR
The Pastor will lead the ministry of Unity Church. As a spiritual leader, the Pastor is first accountable to God, and then to the Session, the Congregation, and the Presbytery. The Pastor is charged with providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, administrative oversight and_noemailanizational direction to a congregation of 350 members, within the context of worship, preaching, teaching, and fellowship.

Session, Personnel Committee, and Pittsburgh Presbytery
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Divinity and Ordained Pastor
Proven ministry, leadership and visionary experience
Excellent interpersonal,_noemailmunication, administrative, and_noemailanizational skills
Strict confidentiality
AREAS OF RESPONCIBILITY:
ADMINISTER THE SACRAMENTS
PREACHING
Solid biblical exposition
Theological_noemailpetence
Engaging/inspirational delivery
TEACHING
Promote and maintain a vital small group ministry
Provide theologically sound biblical instruction
Conduct periodic Bible studies
PASTORAL CARE
Provide pastoral care: Hospital/shut in visits, funerals, personal counseling, family crisis
Officiate at weddings
Encourage and equip others to provide for the needs of the congregation
ADMINISTRATION/LEADERSHIP
Lead and direct the program operations of the church
Lead, direct, and develop the ministry staff, administration staff, and worship team
Provide support and spiritual guidance to the staff
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position of Pastor requires great flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position is a fulltime, salaried exempt position and while the salary is based on a projected 40 hours per week, the actual number of hours required during any given week are those needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Furthermore, it is recognized that the schedule may vary at different times of the year. It is, therefore, understood that the Pastor shall:
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours
Provide contact information to the church office when not in the office during daytime hours
Notify the staff prior to all unforeseen untimely absences from regularly scheduled events
Arrange to receive messages in the event of extended time away from the office
Communicating with the staff and congregation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION:
Preaching multiple times of Sundays
Ascending/descending stairs
Walking/ standing/sitting/typing/driving
