Job Description:


We are an active, growing church in Florence, SC seeking an individual to help lead our current staff and volunteers in creating new and improving existing programs for our church. This is a mission-critical role for our church and is a new position for us. The Director of Families and Programs is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing all of the ministries that impact Christian growth and development of the individual members, families and visitors to the church.



The successful candidate will have a track record of leading teams through the development and execution of individual, small and large group as well as congregational size events and programming. He or she will need to be able to balance leadership and execution responsibilities in a resource-constrained environment utilizing the strengths of the staff and maximizing volunteer engagement. Effective_noemailmunication and coordination with staff, church administration, volunteers, the congregation and the_noemailmunity are critical. While this role is highly_noemailanizational in nature, the successful candidate must be creative, energetic and have a genuine love for interacting with people of all ages. We are seeking a highly interactive leader, not just a planner. The Director of Families and Programming will often serve as the face of activities at Highland Park, so candidates should know that Sunday is a regular workday for this position.

Requirements:

Masters or BA in a related or appropriate course of study
Extensive experience in the development and management of programming (preferable ministry)
Joyful heart that displays God’s inclusive love for all
Dedication to Christ and the United Methodist Church
