Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
1. Preaching and Teaching
Preach during worship services on a regular, rotational, or as-needed basis.
Lead Bible studies, discipleship classes, or small groups as assigned.
Assist in sermon preparation and planning alongside the Lead Pastor.
2. Pastoral Care
Provide spiritual support, visitation, and prayer for members and families.
Assist with weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties.
Help organize systems for member follow-up and care.
3. Ministry Leadership
Partner with staff and lay leaders to strengthen and expand church ministries.
Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers and ministry leaders.
Provide leadership to student and youth ministries.
4. Worship and Administration
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor in planning services and special events.
Participate in staff meetings and church planning sessions.
Contribute to administrative and organizational tasks as needed.
5. Outreach and Community Engagement
Support local evangelism and community outreach initiatives.
Represent Faith Baptist Church with humility and grace in the Champaign community.

Job Qualifications:
Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs of Faith Baptist Church.
A calling to pastoral ministry with a servant's heart.
Meets the biblical qualifications for a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
Bachelor's degree in ministry, theology, or a related field; significant ministry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Previous ministry or pastoral experience is helpful.
Strong communication, relational, and organizational skills.
