First Baptist Church of Tellico Village (FBCTV) (www.FBCTellicoVillage_noemail) located in Loudon, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor. First Baptist Church Tellico Village (FBCTV) is associated with the Southern Baptist Convention but is quite unique in that the church membership is ecumenical, with 395 members from more than 20 different denominations. FBCTV is a congregational church. Church leadership resides with the Senior Pastor and the Leadership Council, which consists of 13 volunteer ministry team chairpersons.
ABOUT THE POSITION: Persons from Baptist and other evangelical traditions are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted through February 28, 2019. Church membership is_noemailprised primarily of retirees who volunteer in great numbers to serve the Church and the_noemailmunity. The Associate Pastor will be responsible for providing leadership for volunteer-led ministries such as Discipleship, Christian Education, Fellowship, Missions, Outreach, Finance and Volunteer Placement Teams. Additionally, the Associate Pastor will be expected to engage with the congregation and the FBCTV_noemailmunity at large to encourage Christians to b_noemaile stronger in their faith and to bring non-believers to Christ.
The current part-time Associate Pastor is retiring as of December 31, 2018. Due to the retirement of our Associate Pastor and the continuing growth of the Church, the congregation voted to hire a full-time Associate Pastor. The full-time Associate Pastor will have a unique opportunity to grow in faith and pastoral skills under the tutelage of FBCTV Senior Pastor, Dr. Charles R. Barnard. Together with the Senior Pastor, the Associate Pastor will be shaping this new full-time position to fulfill the Church Mission to "Love God, Love Others and Reach Our World for Christ."
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Senior Pastor with church programs, special projects and specific assignments from the Senior Pastor as directed.
Maintain clear channels of_noemailmunication with the Senior Pastor, informing him of activities and progress of assigned ministries together with any ministry's needs and challenges.
Seek and accept counsel from the Senior Pastor relative to pending significant issues/decisions.
Meet regularly with the Senior Pastor and ministerial staff to plan, evaluate and coordinate the various church ministries.
Engage in a visitation program for the congregation and local_noemailmunity.
Engage in the_noemailmunity of FBCTV, particularly connecting with and witnessing to the unchurched residents of the area.
Work with ministry teams to establish orientation and learning opportunities for persons who are exploring a relationship with Christ, desiring to join the Church, and seeking to grow in their relationship with Christ.
Preach as requested by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and a seminary degree focused on Christian evangelism and ministries. Formal ministry training and theological education is required. Experience The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of work experience evidencing a proven work ethic, successful leadership skills and ability to effectively teach God's word.
