Associate Pastor Job - Faith Covenant Church, St. Petersburg, Florida

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
I. Staffing (Create and Coach a Team):
A. Recruit, screen, train, and shepherd leaders for all adult ministries programming, including but not limited to Life Groups, Sunday Seminars, Conferences, Retreats, Mission Trips.

II. Programs:
A. Plan, implement, and evaluate all programs initiated to disciple adults.
B. Periodically evaluate all current programs, investigate new and/or emerging ideas for programs, and keep the Senior/Lead Pastor informed of programmatic changes.
C. Be available for basic individual and family counseling as needed.
D. Equip and shepherd parents as they fulfill their God-given role as spiritual leaders.
E. Evaluate, assign, design and schedule facility space for all programmatic elements.
F. Plan and oversee equipment use and care.
G. Create calendar schedule for all adult programs

III. Staff Membership:
A. Attend and participate in ministerial staff, church council, and congregational business meetings as directed by the Senior/Lead Pastor.
B. Prepare written reports for all quarterly and annual congregational business meetings.
C. Assist the Senior/Lead Pastor as requested with Sunday morning worship services, including a plan to preach at least 6 times per year.
D. Be available for pastoral visitation, pre-marital counseling, weddings, and funerals.

IV. Financial:
A. Prepare and submit an annual, detailed proposed budget for adult ministries (separate) to the Senior/Lead Pastor.
B. Monitor spending within approved budget, maintaining expenditures in line with the adopted budget.

V. Professional Responsibilities:
A. The Associate Pastor shall maintain his/her credentials and attend all necessary ministry conferences.
B. The Associate Pastor shall look to stay current in emerging trends, continue professional reading, understand and explore current generational statistics and seek professional development/conferences annually.
C. The Associate Pastor shall be provided with all benefits as required by the by the Evangelical Covenant Church of America.

Qualifications:

A. Must meet what is set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

Personal Responsibilities:

A. Must be a born-again believer with a maturing, sanctifying relationship with Jesus Christ
B. Support Faith Covenant Church through attendance, membership, and tithing
C. Support and affirm the Evangelical Covenant Church Statement of Faith (covchurch_noemail)
D. Pray regularly for the body of Faith Covenant Church
E. Must understand and model the value of "doing life together"
F. Willingness to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of those to whom they shepherd
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 A Bachelor's Degree from a Bible College or Christian Liberal Arts College.
 Minimum 5 years of small group ministry and/or adult ministry experience preferred.
