Director of Children's Ministry Job Description
To serve as a staff member that lives into the mission and vision of Pines which is to be a joyful Christian_noemailmunity that we_noemailes all to know, love and trust in Jesus Christ by looking upward, growing inward, and serving outward.
The Director of Children's Ministry is responsible for all aspects related to planning, executing and managing weekly and year-round/seasonal activities for children from birth through 5th grade and their families at Pines. The DCM ministers to families by being available to listen, encourage, and offer prayers.
Participate in the life and worship of the congregation.
Develop and implement an overall vision for the Children's Ministry that is in line with the overall mission and vision of the church.
Provide a warm, friendly and learning environment for children and families in the congregation and_noemailmunity.
Recruit, train and manage volunteers related to the Children's Ministry. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
Investigate, evaluate, r_noemailmend and purchase approved curriculum for children's program.
Edit curriculum where necessary.
Train Sunday School volunteers in how to prepare and implement curriculum.
Prepare curriculum and supplies for Sundays when necessary.
Coordinate childcare for Pines services and events.
From time to time, interview & hire new caregivers.
Develop, oversee and resource programs and activities for the Children's Ministry including but not limited to Sunday School, Kids Worship, Parents Night Outs, VBS, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.
Plan and teach chapel for Pines Preschool once a month.
Be an effective disseminator and_noemailmunicator of information to parents, members and staff.
Work with Communications Coordinator to effectively publicize ministry events.
Clearly_noemailmunicate the needs of the children's program to other staff and church leaders as appropriate.
Plan and teach biblical curriculum to children in Kids Worship and in the Sunday Children's Message.
Develop a program that educates children about the many aspects of worship and encourages participation in the overall life of the church.
Manage structure and policies relating to childcare volunteers and employees.
Serve as an ex-officio member of the Pines Preschool Board so to maintain and promote a continuous connection between the church and preschool.
Attend monthly Christian Education Committee meetings, and weekly Staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Staff that contribute to the administration and life of the Church.
