Children and Youth Sunday School: Develop or secure an ongoing curriculum for spiritual formation for all children and youth that is representative of our theological perspective and ethos. Manage all aspects of the Sunday school Program. Teach as needed.
Volunteer Coordination & Training: Attract, train, and manage volunteers to work with our children and youth in Sunday school, youth programming, and young adult ministry.
Managing Staff: Recruit, train, support, and manage all staff related to children, youth, and family ministry. Right now, that is just our nursery staff.
Youth Programming: Develop and sustain engaging programming that helps our youth explore and deepen their spiritual lives, gives them opportunities to serve others, and engages them in current events and social justice.
Relationship Building & Mentoring: Create strong and healthy relationships with our children, youth, and young adults to support them in their faith and life journey.
Special Programming: Plan and lead special events, camps, weekend retreats, overnights, mission or learning experiences for youth, children, families, and young adults. This includes building off our existing Wild Goose Adventures week long Summer VBS for preschool to early elementary.
Community Engagement & Advocacy: Engage and help our children, youth, and the rest of our community advocate on important and timely issues that impact children, youth, and families. Confirmation: Develop and coordinate a confirmation program for our youth and other various "rites of passage" experiences for our children and youth that help them and us mark milestones and transitions in their life and faith journey.
Worship: Lead and coordinate meaningful regular and seasonal participation of children and youth during worship services. This includes our annual Christmas program.
Internship Program: Explore the viability and hopefully create and lead an internship program to employ college age or young adults to work with our youth. Provide them training, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
Young Adult / College Ministry: Explore and potentially develop a ministry to young adult and college age students.
Communication: Effectively communicate with families, the congregation, the CYFM Committee, the CYFM Elder, the Pastor and Director of Operations. Manage social media related to CYFM areas of ministry and create online content.
Meetings, Reporting, & Collaboration: Attend and co-facilitate (with CYFM elder) monthly CYFM Committee meetings, attend session meetings quarterly, provide monthly reports to the session, and meet twice a month with your supervisor (the Pastor) and work collaboratively with all staff and leaders within the church as needed.
