Christian Education Discipleship Development Coordinator

Making a Difference in the world in 3 key ways:

Youth Group: Overall coordination of Youth and Christian Ed programs and activities

Making a Difference with Large Event Planning (Typical events: the Evangelism September Sunday Large Event that feeds 300 + people, a Free Community Wide Pool Party in the Summer for 335 people, Church Picnics, and the annual Main Street Santa Day Community Event (300 + people) this year hosted with Lowell Elementary on Saturday, December 2 at Winfield First Presbyterian. In conjunction with the CE/Youth Team and Session coordinate Youth Fundraisers (typically, the Parents' Morning Out, the Easter Morning Lou MacKillop breakfast, a Souper Bowl Sunday Sub Sandwich event, and the Potato Bar).

Host the Turkey Boxes Ministry and Youth Party on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving (approximately 15 boxes of Turkey dinners are put together by the Youth for needy families of elementary children from any of the 4 local elementary schools)

Making a Difference with Christian Education for vibrant Engagement Hospitality Sunday School Coordinator (un-lock classrooms, resource teachers, take attendance, meet greet, and generally assist with the flow of Sunday School programming recruitment and training and resourcing of teachers; occasional substitute duties and periodic teaching)

The College Interns (Sunday CE Intern and the Youth Intern) duties are shaped and guided by the CEDDC who is their primary_noemailmunicator

Anticipated ways for you to share your talents:

Planning and Leading Youth Group for various ages (Foster and build relationships with youth in the_noemailmunity and establish relationships with parents; Create a Master List of Youth contact information and continual updates for visitors; Ensure that all Youth/Parents/visiting youth & kids receive church_noemailmunications

Wednesday evening: Youth Group from 5:30-8:00 p.m. (approximately) for Youth grades 6-12 in the church; MS arrive at 5:30 and depart at 7; HS arrive at 6:30 and leave at 8; Encourage Youth to share in the weekly blended age snack supper/highs and lows 6:30, games 5:30, service projects, fellowship, other ideas initiated by the CEDDC. College Interns typically assist the CEDDC and are guided by you.

Communicate with the Faith Family, through various forms of media

(FB, YouthFB, TEXT groups, Young Parents' Group, email, direct mail and foster growth, website, You Tube)

Youth Retreats and Summer Camp coordination (in particular Westminster Woods Fall Work Weekend November November 16, 17, 18 and Winter Youth MS and HS retreats and the Presbytery of Southern Kansas Triennium Event at Purdue University in July 2019)

Attend Christian Ed/Youth monthly meetings if possible and give guidance to team

and Weekly staff meetings (Mondays at 10 a.m.)

Plan and CoordinateYouth Sunday annually (typically in August)

Along with the CE/Youth Committee Monitor and track Youth Accounts for Trips/camps and other special funds

In conjunction with the CE/Youth Team and Session coordinate Youth Fundraisers (typically, the Parents' Morning Out, the Easter Morning Lou MacKillop breakfast, a Souper Bowl Sunday Sub Sandwich event, and the Potato Bar)

Coordinate the Kids of the Kingdom (Annual 1 week Summer Bible learning program for children ages 3-10; typically daily for 5 days in June from 1-3 p.m.

Sharing your Talents: This is a position that pays hourly based on your flexible schedule. The hourly rate is based on a salary of $28,000. $500 is allowed annually for Continuing Education to strengthen your talents and gifts. The Coordinator's talents are needed Sunday mornings with 1 Sunday sabbath in the Fall 2018 and 2 Sunday sabbaths in the Spring 2019 and typically there are only a few Sunday requirements in the Summer 2019.

Worship participation at Winfield First Presbyterian is strongly encouraged. One day of_noemailpensatory time for 2 nights of overnight to camp or retreat. Two weeks paid vacation after the first year. 5 days of paid vacation after the first 6 months.
 

Qualifications:

Must possess good communication and leadership skills; be well organized and be a self-starter with superb time management abilities, and have a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ. Must work cooperatively with others and enjoy working with children and youth. Training/education or prior experience in Education, Christian Education and/or Youth Ministry is preferred. Continuing education in Christian Education and/or Youth Ministries is preferred.
