New Hope Baptist Church Values Kingdom Growth, Spiritually and Numerically. We seek a

musician who can lead our Music Ministries to assist pivotally in achieving those ends.

New Hope Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Church Musician to accompany

the music ministry. This individual will serve as a key player in the worship experience,

providing musical leadership in a variety of musical genres, including Gospel music, hymns, and

contemporary Gospel. The ideal candidate will have a growing relationship with Christ, be

proficient in piano/keyboard or organ performance, and have the ability to lead rehearsals, teach

vocal parts, and collaborate with musicians and vocalists to enhance the worship experience.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Lead musician for weekly worship services, including both traditional and contemporary

Gospel music, hymns, and special music.

- Direct and conduct rehearsals for the church band and Praise Ensemble, preparing them for

Sunday services and other special events.

- Organize and coordinate special singing groups for seasonal celebrations such as Lent/Easter,

Advent/Christmas, and other key dates on the church calendar.

- Teach and coach vocal parts to members of the Praise Ensemble and other volunteer singers.

- Serve as a resource for the music ministry by providing input and feedback to other musicians,

vocalists, and church leaders on musical selection and performance.

- Collaborate with the Pastor, worship leaders, and other ministry leaders to ensure music aligns

with the overall worship theme and liturgy.

- Stay current with new worship music trends, Gospel music, hymns, and other genres relevant to

the church's ministry.

- Assist with the selection of songs for services, rehearsals, and special programs.

- Attend church services, rehearsals, and special events, being present for sound checks,

performances, and other necessary duties.

**Compensation**

Salary Range $400- 500 per Sunday ( Experience & Ability Determinative)

Two weeks (2 Sundays) of vacation after completion of one year.

- Proficiency in performing Gospel music, hymns, and contemporary Gospel music.

- Ability to read chord charts, lead sheets, and/or demonstrate strong ear proficiency.

- Previous experience leading or directing musical groups, preferably in a church setting.

- Ability to teach and coach vocal parts for choirs, ensembles, and special musical groups

desired.

- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively plan and lead rehearsals and

special events.

- A heart for worship and the ability to lead others into an encounter with God through music.

- Experience with leading worship for different types of services, including traditional,

contemporary, and special seasonal events.
